I have only spoken to him once. Might see him again in 2017. The level of surveillance turned him off according to my source which is Jon Gruden.

Have to remember that he has never been a college head coach. When he was an assistant or GA, the time was different. There is so much BS to deal with now in college that you don't deal with in the pros. Every university issued email address, phone, whatever is subject to open records requests. I wanted him just like everyone else, but at the time, there were rumors of power struggles. There are certain things you have deal with in college, including compliance, boosters, and now we see Title IX. Just a different game.

Well that back and forth with Haney was interesting.

I'm likely in the minority with this opinion but I had no real issues with Haney's article. He's been on the Midday 180 on 104.5 for a while before it came out and I always liked what he brought to the show.

Him and Braden Gall, IMO, just reported news and information, nothing really biased from what I could tell.

And was what he said really that bad? All of the info that was in there is information and/or opinions that have been discussed on her throughout the season, only this time it's in the form of an article on a recruiting site.

I believe him when he says he spoke with people who wished to remain anonymous but felt that Butch is extremely hard on himself, to the point that it could be construed as a lack of confidence...that he's maybe in over his head...and that we may be making a change come end of next season.

He's not the obnoxious as*hat that Rucker is or Clay Travis can be, but I have no doubt he wrote it because he knew it would generate a lot of clicks.

I don't really have a problem with any of it.

Thought you would have jumped in sooner.

Pretty good indication of the state of "journalism" today. Original story based on "source" is bush league. Doesn't matter to the folks who run the site. Generates clicks and leads to a Q&A with the reporter that readers can use to make their voices heard - power to the people. What a joke.

Guessing plans for round 2 are already in place. Second Butch negative culture story based on "source" is already in the can. I expect it to drop on Monday or the day before the bowl - especially if we don't announce the new AD.

Any issues in Butch's watch are a joke now because of this lame reporting.

I think he made the perception of him worse. What're your thoughts?

I could take or leave it.

I don't think it helped or hurt. It didn't change anyone's opinion or perception.

But I also had no issue with the article. I think most of it is true and there are people inside and out that feel that way.

I think he didn't expect some of the blunt answers he got from sources and ran with it. It was interesting and guess what it is polarizing and that is very good for business.

Lurk less, post more.

Here is your admittance quiz to see if you qualify.

Are you a MORAN or a Moron? We need to know. It's important.

Quick cool story bro...

There is a dealership up here in metro Detroit named Moran. They've got the most recognizable license plate frames in the area.

So every day I think about you MORANs even if I'm not lurking.

Big gulps huh?

Welp... See ya later!

These morans never cross my mind...

Really? They have that thing on Friday nights and I've gotten it a couple times and it's been good. Maybe Fridays are better since they're doing so much of it?

Its probably just the fickle nature of catfish, its really good or really bad.

I grew up in East Tennessee and there are no good catfish places. For the last 27 years I have lived in Memphis, Alabama, and Arkansas. Until you leave ET you will never know good catfish.
You may like Cheddars and you have that right, but I am telling you all you haven't had good catfish until you have had some in the Mississippi River Delta.

I'm biased because I'm from West Tennessee, but we have the best catfish in the South. As mentioned earlier, I highly recommend Blue Bank at Reelfoot Lake. Also, their okra is AMAZING.

Hey Zep, did you ever eat at ***h's catfish restaurant between Milan and Trenton on Germantown Rd? It closed down several years back but we used to go there many many times back in the 70s and 80s when I used to live there. Great fried catfish, hush puppies, white beans and fries.

With cornbread. This PB thing is blasphemy. And half of my family is from upstate New York, other half Tennessee. Never heard of this concoction until today.

That's because it's not real. It can't be. Has to be some made up thing just to rile people up on here. It worked too. PB and chili...it's either fake or the world is heading straight to hell in a handbasket.

There are a couple of really good catfish places over in Tupelo but it's been so long I can't remember the names. One is on the northwest side of town on the highway. And the other is south of town by the entrance to the state park. (Mississippi, Akers, catfish, lot of signs here for those who know how to read them.)
