I don't quite understand not firing Dooley until losing to Vandy. That loss could be seen a mile away.
I was rooting for us to beat Missouri the week before because I knew we would make a bowl and fire Dooley in the same year, which seemed like the best of both worlds.
Hart didn't want to fire Dooley at all that year. He was focused on the bottom line and wanted to avoid a buyout in 2012. But losing to Vandy and missing a bowl created a major uproar. Hart resisted, but donor and booster outrage made the firing inevitable.
