I don't quite understand not firing Dooley until losing to Vandy. That loss could be seen a mile away.

I was rooting for us to beat Missouri the week before because I knew we would make a bowl and fire Dooley in the same year, which seemed like the best of both worlds.

Hart didn't want to fire Dooley at all that year. He was focused on the bottom line and wanted to avoid a buyout in 2012. But losing to Vandy and missing a bowl created a major uproar. Hart resisted, but donor and booster outrage made the firing inevitable.

Uh, this was four years ago. I liked the writing at Scout and it started out as Gridscape and it had a lot of very long time, very good posters. I do think that they have lost a lot in the last couple of years, which is why I came on over to the Light side here at VN.

It's not from 4 years ago either. It was written this morning at 10 AM.

Tony lied to us all.

I DID NOT say that I was leaving VN. What I said was I was stopping the recruiting threads & only posting mostly in my own threads. Yes, I had a change in heart for making the recruiting threads.

Why is that such a big deal for you'll? That allows me to provide the boards with stuff you otherwise wouldn't get because Ron, Fingers, & company don't post as much recruits as they used too.

This is me trying to help the boards out. Never seen so much complaining from one forum in my life than this one here at VN. It's really a disgrace!

I don't know why I want to continue to be a member other than me being a VFL & wanting to help people get information that they wouldn't get unless I did it for the most part.

I don't get some of you'll. I really don't. Complain & cry about some of the silliest things. Amazes me! Thanks!

No, one was a result of lack of desire to compete, and the other was the lack of talent to ever beat out Dobbs for the job.

Playing dime store psychologist here, but my thoughts are that Haney's first real attempt at journalism since ESPN canned him earlier this year was his Butch hit piece. He was under the mistaken belief that the fan base would drool over such an article because it would pander to their anger towards Butch after the Vandy game. Unfortunately for him, he completely misjudged and underestimated the fanbase's ability to decipher between real journalism and a targeted hit piece, and he received a TON of negative backlash. That negative backlash has made him insecure and he is reacting in a rather unprofessional manner by putting a negative spin towards Butch's program on every little nugget he can as a way to try and lend credence to the narrative he proffered in his hit piece.

I would anticipate the little jabs to continue from him, and he will be the first in line to try and say "told ya so" if and and when anything bad happens regarding UT football.

He said Peterman and Ferguson's current coaches thought they were casualties of coaching and personnel.
