What's not a good fit?

A guy from harbaugh's tree, a master at the west coast who was smart enough to change systems (to the spread) at USF to fit his talent

Good coaching always always runs schemes to match the talent and doesn't make talent fit into a rigged scheme that said coach is married to

I'm detecting a slight bit of petty in this statement 😂

Somebody gets it. :good!:

Great hire. Always pick the guy that will do whatever he needs to do to make lemonade out of lemons and simply wins games. He's walking into a mess of a program in decline, but, at a school with huge upside and he knows what to do.

I'm pretty surprised to hear this hire. That's a big leap for Willie T. How many people must've said no first?

Continues to show how difficult it now is to hire an elite coach. Even if UT wanted to pay big money, I just don't agree with people who think we can hire one.

It's how most people in the south pronounce 'get'. I don't see it as disrespectful.

I get your point, but in my opinion, it is disrespectful. Even telling someone to get out is not very respectful. It also represents a lot of what is wrong in recruiting. Commitment means very little as does an "offer." I know that every coach does it, but I don't like it at all when players are told that they no longer have a scholarship available. I realize that many of them were likely told that up front, but that is not what the rest of the world perceives. Sorry, rant over.

Anyone know who all is expected to EE?

In terms of current commits, the only ones I know of right now are Trey Smith & Riley Locklear (OV'ing the Vols this coming weekend).

As for targets, Shanon Reid (LB) I believe is going to be an EE too, so hopefully we add him to the fold this afternoon. Other EE targets include Cam Akers (RB) and Keisean Nixon (JUCO CB OV'ing the Vols this coming weekend).

He had a scope done on his knee just prior to fall camp. From seeing him at that point he was not close to game shape, and I wouldn't be surprised if he still has some lingering issues with his leg that kept him from ever really getting game ready.

As an aside, in the spring I'm going to start working in a student position with UTSports so I might be able to bring some information from time to time when I'm not busy creating content. I haven't posted as much anyways recently, and that trend will probably continue.

Congrats on the gig.

This. I wished he had stayed at USF one more year.

If Reid uses COL when he commits, if he commits to us, then I hope it's a rally cry for this class

So I had ESPU on yesterday after the Trey Smith announcement and the idiots on there were discussing the top players in the country. Of Course Jonathan Allen, who is a great football player, was brought up as the clear and undisputed top defensive player in the country. It makes me so frustrated how guys like Barnett get overlooked because they don't play for one of the media darlings. DB has just as many tackles, 5 more TFL, 3.5 more sacks, more passes defended and more forced fumbles than Jonathan Allen. On top of that he played with less supporting cast members around him. So how in the world is Jonathan Allen the undisputed defensive player of the year ESPN "analyst". Maybe you look around at teams other than the ones your bosses tell you to look at and you'll find that there are some truly amazing players on other teams all over the country. I wish there was an alternative to ESPN in the worst way.

So apparently there's talk on 247 (John Brice) that Butch might be bringing in Helfrich for OC or Co/OC, Brady Hoke for DL coach and Terry Fair to coach DB's. Doubt it happens but that would be interesting.
