Texas's offense is ranked #20 nationally in total offense with 491.3 yards a game. Tennessee is ranked #51 with 437.3 yards a game.

We are #26 in scoring offense 36.3 points a game and Texas is ranked #50 with 31.9 a game.

With a true freshman QB for them and a senior for us.

Gilbert would be a great choice as would have Cumbie, Littrell or Riley. Butch had an opportunity when Bajakian left instead he chose a puppet in Debord.

Guys, our offense was pretty good because we had Dobbs under center and every starter returning from a year earlier. The coach's performance should be judged in that context, and in that context, I don't believe they did a good enough job.

On defense, we have to consider that maybe Shoop is just overrated. Yes, he had a lot of injuries, but Penn State didn't miss him. I would hate to get rid of someone who had such a stellar resume after only one injury-riddled campaign, but it was tough to watch just how bad we were at the end of the year. We wasted an all-time great in Barnett. I wouldn't be sad if we tried to upgrade there, but there needs to at least be some position level changes.

Everyone off the Briles tree has had a lot of success. But even if DeBord retires, the job will just go to CZA.

scored a ton of points this year. The offense was the team strength. I didn't like the DeBord hire either--but we had some talent at some key positions this year (Dobbs, Kamara) and he used it productively. What head coach is going to drop an OC after the year our offense had? It might happen, but I rather doubt it. We DO need a QB coach--I don't think that's a DeBord speciality, is it?--and we certainly need better offensive line play. But our injuries and defense killed us this year. Even when healthy, very few teams can play defense anymore--it is completely an offensive game nowadays, and really defenses do well to keep a good team from scoring 30.

It was also his "high-powered" offense that cost us the South Carolina game, and forced us to go to OT against App State, as well as, putting up a big fat 3 points on Vandy in the second half. He has been entirely inconsistent and people are letting a few beat downs of Missouri and UK's atrocious defenses put shades over the ugliness.
