The Charlie Strong defense force in the media and on the internet is bizarre. Never seen a coach who flat out failed to get it done get so much slack and sympathy. And it's not like he even was "close" and just needed more time. His tenure in Austin was a disaster. But no... Texas is "toxic" and he's going to land on his feet and be a great coach somewhere else.

LSU is better than the east teams. Yeah they beat Florida, but they also ***** up because they scored 10 total points when they had the ball inside the 5 yard line 5 different times. FL defense is amazing but thats part luck.

An injured Florida team beat them on the road with Austin Appleby at QB. I don't understand the bold part.

He's not as bad as he looks, but losing to Kansas and missing a bowl year 3 is bad

The narrative is almost like he's immune to criticism. "It was a bad fit" is what I keep seeing. What? Why can't people just admit that he failed and perhaps isn't that great of a coach?

Some of our own fans like him more than Butch. I truly do not understand it. We got lucky he turned us down and we got stuck with Butch.

He is going to match Derek Dooley's record with better talent and a much weaker schedule. And losing to Kansas is worse than any loss Dooley had. It is probably worse than any loss in the history of our program.

Brady won the orange and citrus bowl and had good years in the time of run dominated offenses in the big ten. Favre is in the top 3 in passing all time at southern miss in a time when running the football was the way to go. Favre is still there most recognized alum with Jimmy buffet and ray guy. Curtis Martin was hurt most his college career but when he played he was damn good.

Your argument is two QBs in a run dominated time in college football and an injury plagued rb during his college years. Try harder next time....

Myles Garrett has been tops in the SEC in sacks since he stepped on campus.

So what are we arguing about?

Y'all remember when Nebraska and Baylor were in the top 10?

Me either

The rankings are always a joke. Have little to do with talent or strength of schedule. Almost always it's tied to record and hype.

And when garbage teams play nobody the first half of the year, they artifically rise up the rankings.

He's saying teams have off days. Lsu had the ball 3 times inside the 5 resulting in 0 points. Lsu dominated them everywhere but the score board. Sometime soon the better team doesn't always win. Example: Tennessee vs A&M or Socar

Ummm... ?

Garrett 8.5. And 4.5 of those against UTSA

Barnett 11

I said since he stepped on campus.

And I didn't see you break down any of those others guys numbers in terms of what they did in conference vs out of conference.

The hate for Myles Garrett around here is comical. No matter how hard you want to dismiss his talent, he will be drafted ahead of Barnett. And unless a QB emerges, he's likely to be the 1st overall pick.

Garrett has 16 sacks against power 5 schools in 3 years. Derek Barnett has 30 sacks against power 5 schools. Enough said.

I'm not comparing Garrett or Barnett's college production.

I'm simply responding to the argument that guys like Brady and Favre lit it up in college but Garrett hasn't.

So far in college Myles Garrett has been a sack machine. Sure most have come out of conference. But I haven't seen anybody else get their numbers skewered in terms of in conference or out of conference.

Barnett has been more productive in SEC play. I'm not arguing against that. I just don't think better college stats correlate to better NFL success. Barnett could be better in college than Myles but not in the NFL.
