In a weird way I think the UF win might end up making Butch look a little better at the end of 2016. We'll get an easier bowl opponent and a good chance at finishing 10-3.

If we got to Atlanta and played in the Citrus or Sugar bowl, then 9-5 looks like a very possible outcome.


10-3 narrative: one bad loss but with all the injuries and Hurd drama not a terrible season.

9-5 narrative: we only got to Atlanta because UF choked and we obviously aren't on ththe same level as top opponents.

I think you are just explaining it, and don't really believe it, but this is such a defeatist mentality. The championship is ALWAYS better. Everyone remembers that Florida won the East last year; I had to Google what bowl they went to. I suspect that by next weekend, if someone asked me, I'd have to google it all over again.

Really all this "narrative" is is a way to rationalize not meeting expectations.

Our run defense is easy to predict with that and our LBer depth or lack thereof.

Against a 3-7 team this argument is stupid and a team in South Carolina that was averaging 17 points a game which was good for dead last in the FBS. Overrated
