Playing DE at DT hurts our run defense a lot. That's not the entire reason of course, but tough to be too critical when our best run stopping LB and our top 3 DT are out

Yeah, I agree. The defense got gashed, but we're basically down to one true scholarship DT in Vickers. That's just insane really. Add to that that UK is a running team with a great center (who knew, right?), and this was just a bad match-up for us (though I don't know that there are any good match-ups when you're as thin as we are at DT.). Bottom line, with this makeshift group on the interior D-line, we're going to seriously struggle against any team with a decent running attack. JMO.
