the top-100 senior safety from la vergne high school in suburban nashville, tenn., said wednesday that hes still loving his commitment to the vols, but hes planning to take official visits to at least three other schools leading up to national signing day.
bamas still at me hard. Florida states still at me. Uscs still at me, gray said after receiving his jersey for the 2017 under armour all-america game during a ceremony at his school. even though im committed, the recruiting is not going to stop. Im trying to make sure im sold on tennessee and its the place that i want to be, because i really havent gotten down to a game to see the atmosphere at alabama. I really haven't been to a game at usc. I mean, ive been on campus, but i havent been to a game (there).
theyre currently on a three-game losing streak, but he said their recent struggles havent changed the way he feels about them.
"there's always bumps in the road, and unfortunately they're having some bumps in the road, gray said. with being in the sec, we cant have the games that theyve had, you cant have those games. You cant start out slow playing in the sec, or playing against any team, really, you cant start out slow. And thats a bad habit weve had. I mean, i don't know. We've got to do something about it. Hopefully something will change. Who knows? I mean, its football.
and, on top of that, we've had a lot of injuries. You can't win games without injuries, a few mental mistakes during the games. And they can take over a game. Those small things can bite you.
my thing is i want to be a part of a team thats wanting to win and thats also sending guys to the league, gray said. we just have to get it together, honestly.
i mean, i'm committed. I still love them don't get me wrong. Weve just got to get it together. I dont want to be part of a losing program. I dont like to lose.
gray said hes likely to take his official visit to tennessee in january, and it wont be easy for another team to change his mind about the vols.
"still lovin' it, he said.
