10-3 can't be used against him by many teams on the recruiting trail. I know two teams who won't be able to use it and that's Georgia and Florida.

UF can sell back-to-back ATL appearances and UGA is still in rebuilding mode under Smart. GA recruits are extremely loyal to him at this point. He would have to lose out to take a hit in recruiting.

What does Butch have to sell now? He will finally put some guys in the league and end the draft drought, but that's it.

Well he can sell victories over those two teams for one. He can sell putting kids in the draft for another. He can sell improved results every year.

Lynx, great posting today.

:salute:

I haven't posted a lot this year about our staff/team, etc., but as usual, the media that covers UT plants seeds in peoples minds trying to unravel potentially nonexistent issues in the program. That is par for the course during a three-game skid in which the most recent loss was the worst namely in the Jones era. In the process, they create rumors/problems that simply don't exist, or they fuel the rumor mill.

I think there are problems with this team and this staff. Depth at certain positions is an issue. Injuries are a major issue this year. Consequently those injuries magnify the issues with depth. I think the offense in the past two games has been an issue. However, to reach and say that "attrition" is also a significant issue is just piling up a little nonsense and throwing stuff at the wall in hopes that it will stick. I had to chime in on all of that.

Anyone who has even casually followed recruiting knew we would lose a bunch of guys from that first full class. We signed like 35 guys. Of course we're going to lose 10-15.

Exactly. If the tables were turned and the Vols were backing into the SECCG like Florida is then he'd be singing a different tune.

"Well, Florida can sell beating TN and all we can say is we backed into the SECCG and then got slaughtered by Bama"

You don't see aTm complaining about their starting qb attrition from last year. You recruit to replace.

Dude KNOWS nothing. Wouldn't ask him how much he doesnt know tho. :)

I'm more pointing to the fact that multiple people have asked what he said regarding concussions ever since GFW said it was true. And yet the only thing we got was a link leading to a dead end. That's the only reason I would be wanting to read it. If it weren't for GFW saying it were true I would have just skimmed past it.

Just in case you guys haven't been over to the field lately posters are saying that both Barnett and Kongo threw hands with Hurd. Kongo was mad over Hurd disrespecting stripling and Barnett put his hat on straight for Hurd at some point. They are also referencing that Hurd was about to be suspended and the was some kind of situation with a band member..

Also in the same forum posters are saying butch and debored have set in a date in January for his departure and that the decision has already been made on 2 other coaches z and Mahoney

Every 20 minutes or so on arky radio I have to hear something like "but at least we aren't a dumpster fire like tennessee. Butch would have been exposed long before now if he had to play in the west like Bielema. You don't hear about these internal issues here at arkansas like tennessee has"

Brutal radio week for me

We played arguably the two best teams in the SEC west. Next year, we have LSU. What internal issues? Hurd transfers; therefore, we have internal issues?

I wouldn't do it, but someone should call in and say that it appears that Arkansas fans are whining about potentially going 7-5 this year and being next to last in the SEC west. I know Auburn is good, but that was a spanking last week. Bielema hasn't improved each year, so there must be internal issues.

I'm starting to believe what De1 said about concussions is only a myth. It doesn't exist.

You mean someone that doesn't work with the staff, doesn't run these camps, and gets 3rd party info from haircuts so he can get attention on a message board would give out false info(whether he made it up or not)?!?!

Wait for a minute while I find my shocked face

Butch just needed one big season and the program could have mostly stayed out of the crosshairs for a while. Even going 10-3 this year will do nothing to change the narrative. He had to win the East (which is still possible, but very unlikely).

He will remain "Botch Jones" for another 11 months minimum. It's sad. I like him and want him to succeed.

And Dabo and "clemsoning" were a thing for years. It sucks but the national media changes the narratives in a heartbeat when it benefits them and drives clicks.

If UGA and FL don't improve they'll pounce on any improvement we make because a strong East contender improves the SECs outlook and they need the SEC championship to be a bigger game that is has been the past few years
