I agree with this. If CJ can get things straightened out and win things will take care of itself. I do hope first of all he rights the ship and wins out this year. Change OC and let them run the Offense but I just don't know if he is willing to give up on his system.

IDT he'll fire DeBord or change his system this year. I know this is a minority opinion, but I think it would take a strong AD to force an OC change and we don't have that. The wild card is if DeBord wants out or is ready to retire-- and that could be the case.

I saw the video from the TD Club meeting. He actually said that they are preparing for the defenses that they see on film and that teams are switching it up in games. Also said that Dobbs threw it late on the INT with 3 minutes left. I didn't see the play, but he said the WR was initially open.

Urban losing to Penn state is the only example that holds any water imo. Although Penn state is probably better than SC.

Bob Stoops is definitely past his prime. I would hope we hold ourselves to a higher standard than MS State.

Remind me, who is coaching at Baylor? I honestly have no idea.

The guy fired from Wake Forest awhile back.

Don't know if Debord decides it or not, I would be surprised if he is the OC next year. Maybe he moves to OL coach, but I think he is done with being an OC.

There's a link.

Yeah, I read the article. I'm wondering where it got Debord's admission. Would like to hear that with my own ears.

I just generally take anything the media says with a huge grain of salt. It wouldn't shock me if that were true, but I want to see it for myself.

Edit: Ventured into the FF and found the quote. ...not even sure what to say about that, honestly.

Smith was wide open. Would have been a huge play and likely a TD. It was a hair late but extremely under thrown. The poor accuracy was worse than the timing

Saw this mentioned on VQ...

Rich Rod is doing pretty bad at Arizona. They are 2-6 right now. He may get fired.

If he does, is that Butch's first phone call if he wants to replace DeBord?

I'd be interested to see where Debord said that myself. Pretty damning if true - and prior to the SC game, I was cool with Debord for the most part.

The quote is difficult to understand. It doesn't mean Debord doesn't watch film. He stated that teams are running different schemes or plays than what their tendancies are on film.

The humor in this may get lost, but great post anyway.

It was a subtle humor. Most on here are too worked up to catch subtle today I would guess. Oddly enough...I'm not all that worked up over it.

The SC game sure pissed me off....the Hurd thing...meh...not so much.

Let me first say that was suppose to be a "can't" in there not a can. lol I meant if he can't. But anyway I hear ya. I guess all we can do is hope he does retire because Debord will be CJ's down fall.

He looks tired. And he's not all that keen on the grind of recruiting. I agree that CBJ will keep him on staff if he's willing to stay. QB coach is another possibility, especially if Nick Sheridan moves on or up.

If Z isn't promoted, he could leave.

Yeah, I get it. I know he watches film. I don't know why he expects teams not to hit us with new wrinkles, and I don't know why he rarely adjusts in midgame.

I'd be ok with this but I would still rather get a guy from the art briles tree

Sad thing is it could very well happen. Momentum is a very dangerous thing. If we come out flat and TT gives us a game the team could very well fold up. Very similar to the Wyoming game in Fulmers last year.

which was the game after CPF was told he would not be retained.
