Interesting question posed on Memphis sports talk show during my drive home. Would you get rid of Butch to bring in Petrino? They all said yes.

Yes. But Boths buyouts wouldn't let that happen. Petrino and kiffin are the 2 best O minds in college football

Not near the level of coaches.

94th in the country isn't a player issue.

And before that:
102
90
52

Peterman has been able to learn and execute a system in 2 years at Pitt. I don't really blame Ferguson on Butch except that he wouldn't have been a fit in a read option system, but he's been able to execute a system elsewhere.

Lane Kiffin has made **** work with a half-assed QB just about everywhere he's been.

If it hasn't been worked in 4 years, the problem is either the system or how it's being taught. Either way, it isn't the players.

My uncle sits on the BOT at UofL, and they have made it pretty good for Petrino there, and he's pretty grateful for them taking him back. Seriously doubt he goes anywhere!

Just watched Brice, Rucker and Ryan. They gave indication that Hurd would probably not transfer (because of the waiting period) unless he went to a lesser team (which they didn't think he would do) They feel like he may have been run off with no choice.

Also, they don't buy the Kongbo thing because he took the Tennessee stuff down.

I've gotten to where I don't think staff changes will help. If we're running his system, you could have elite staff everywhere and still have issues. Our players look more lost on offense than any other team I watch in Saturdays.

I'm afraid you are now in the group. Sorry. :)

Not really a nega. I just want CBJ to loosen up a little and make some changes. Some of it's on the players and their execution, but I believe in tweaking the system when and where it would give players the best chance to succeed. And I do think he needs to make some staff changes. Like ASAP.

It's just a joke after the comments of our sensitive buddy, Volssam, classifying Cat, InVOL and I as being the three amigos of negativity. The irony - in the same thread I predicted UT to win 45-14 and told him I predicted a 10-2 record. :)

Cat has been spot on with his season predictions. He uses negativity as a persona, but he actually sees things realistically. InVOL and I see it the same way since we live here and have been around it for so long. Like you I have relationships within. I am friends with a couple of VFL's that have been in coaching, one of which messaged Dobbs (they know each other well) today to use Hurd leaving as motivation to finish out strong.

I want Butch to get over himself and fix things the right way. He needs to win at a high level here and take the program to the top. But like you and others know, there have to be major changes.

LAVol, do the coaches see that not wanting Dobbs go run as much as last year has severely affected the offense as a whole? And it appears to make him play more tight and nervous, pressing his throws. Which has resulted in many turnovers. The offense is a mess- does Butch see that?

Crap, oh crap. Uhhh...CBJ can still right the ship guys, JG is going to solve a lot of problems next year, and a new OL coach is going to make everything better?

JG could be the next Peyton Manning with athleticism and we'd still find a way to not win the East. If JG is as TS advertises I just worry we'll waste his eligibility when a good coach could of competed for a natty.

For the most part he is as TS posted. Seen it. Remains to be seen if he has the touch on his passes, but he has the arm. Everything else is there including leadership.

A great example of perception not being reality

12.6 rushes per game for Dobbs in 2016
11.2 rushes per game for Dobbs in 2015

Do those numbers count sacks?

They aren't calling his number as much this year IMO. Also, he doesn't tuck it and go as much as last year.

The better question is why is he not running early. Seen too many first quarters where Dobbs didn't even have a carry. Early in season at least. There's no reason we should go to OT with App St with Dobbs have near zilch carries in the first half.
