You are picking and choosing though. Yeah we made some plays in those games, but if the App State coach doesn't run one of the most baffling plays to end the second half I've ever seen and either kick a field goal or throw the ball out of bounds, we likely lose that game.

If VT doesn't fumble the ball seven hundred times, a good chance that game goes down to the wire.

If we don't have the most unlikely and maybe historic finish in our program's history against UGA, we lose that game.

9 times out of 10, this football team would be sitting at 3-5 right now, at least.

Look to possibly see JJ out of the backfield some. He was asked if he would be okay helping out some there and said he would do whatever it takes to help the team.

Definition of a team player unlike the player that's leaving. Wish we had a team full of players like him.

Hurd quit on his team in the middle of the season amidst adversity of losing to SC, making an already bad situation worse, and doing so knowing full well what his quitting would do to an already fragile team... He quit on his teammates who are out there grinding the same as him, battling injuries and fatigue, every week.
Butch failed miserably catering to this kid, showing the rest of the team there can be favoritism... Clearly Kamara and Kelly should have been carrying the load.
Butch failed miserably coming off a bye week, even with injuries, with a pathetic game plan to beat a bad SC team.
Butch has failed miserably this season by letting his ego get in the way of what is best for the offense and personnel he has by sticking with a scheme that doesn't get the most out of his players, even if it is evident that its failing.
Butch can actually have a chance to salvage this mess and the season if he sheds his ego and talks with the team, owning up to his mistakes and taking ownership of the issues and promising to do what is necessary to right the ship.
We can still win the remainder of the games and this would help recruiting, which would help next season.

And you are picking and choosing as well. If we didn't turn the ball over seven hundred times against aTm we win that game.

This is all true but to just put the blame on coaches you can't do. These players aren't making plays and are contributing to our problems. The stick is how do you fix it.

Dobbs is QB 1. Dormady would get murdered behind this line. Dobbs just needs to play better and coaches need to turn him loose and force him to run the freakin football.

You don't play Dormady until you have no choice. Much better chance of winning out with 11 at QB. Just needs to pick his game up.

He can't run and outside of the deep ball I'm not a fan of what I've seen from him in mop up time. Especially in this offense.

You're right. That's true.

My point is, the players have gone out there and made plays to win a lot of these games, despite the coaches consistently failing to put them in position to beat these lesser teams, which they have been. No excuse for a lot of those starts, gameplans, and coaching decisions despite the 5-0 start. The players won in spite of the coaches, or they simply got lucky.

The difference these last 3 weeks is a lot of those big playmakers have gotten hurt, or the ball has stopped bouncing our way, which was inevitable. That bad coaching has caught up.

Roman wanted to come as an OC which is what his position is in the pros. Same position as JimBob and he wanted the OC job. That's my whole point, if one respected OC wanted it why not another. And at that time he was highly respected.

One thing to watch out for as a clue to Butch's future is if there is a staff changes, particularly at the OC, what kind of coaches does he attract? Remember Dooley had to get a guy like Sunseri because he couldn't attract a top DC because of the perception that he was a lame duck. Also, let's see who jumps ship this year from the staff. This would be an indicator that the staff doesn't think Butch will be here much longer.

I had gone back and forth about going to the game this Saturday, as I had to move a few things around to attend. I'll be there though in support of the guys who want to be on this team.

I agree. Assuming we beat TT, if we lose/losing to Kentucky I don't think we have another choice. All you are playing for at that point is a different bowl. Play to see what we have for next year.

Sure you can. Your roster is loaded with talent and you're doing everything in your power to squander it and give games away. It shouldn't be required that your players bail out your inept coaches week after week with huge comebacks and big plays late in the game. Your coaches should be able to win games comfortably and maximize your talent and advantages. These guys simply have not been able to do that since they got here. They only win when they have distinct talent advantages, and even that is not always a guarantee (clearly).

You originally said the media here is a bunch of babies. I do agree, but I gave you am example from today (Price) who did not act like a baby (IMO). That's what I was answering.

Your thought on whether or not it was right for Price to keep asking those questions is different from mine and we can keep it at that.

I'm pretty sure Catbone has correctly predicted the W/L record each of the past 3-4 seasons.

He may have been the only poster calling 9-3 before the season.
