I don't think our offense has looked great with any of our personnel except in a few halves here or there. And you could argue Hurd had plenty of success till the round peg/square hole took its tole on his body. He's been the main carrier in the system for 2.5 years, Kelly and Kamara haven't been.

My biggest concern right now is who else is leaving the team because I am doubting it is just Hurd. I bet Martin, Richmond are next in line. Maybe Kongbo but that would be very foolish of him right now. Someone in the FF even said Abernathy was quitting but who the hell knows. We must have sold our soul to beat Florida this year and now reaping the consequences. Unbelievable.

And its a shame Kamera wasn't use more. What a weapon! As far as the pounding thing you keep bring up, he is 240 lbs he should be delivering the punishment. Lately he has been falling from shoelace tackles.

Hurd gone, but I think Kongbo stays... he will almost definitely get tons of playing time for the remainder of the season with Tuttle gone and no word on when Alexis will be available...

Welcome to the John Kelly show.

I was worried what benching Dobbs would do to the team morale but it's clearly at an all time low. Give me Dormady or JG and maybe the guys that'll be here next year can rally around them.

Very well put. Plain and simple self-centered attitude is what brings disunity. Rather play our 3* RB Kelly.

Is it too much to ask for Hurd leaving to be the magic recipe for getting this team back on track and winning out in dominating fashion AND for Florida to lose two more games? No it doesn't make all of this go away but I would rather end the season on a positive note than like this. Because we are stuck with Butch next year and maybe even the next. Maybe he will have an epiphany and make major changes right now. If not, we are on the coaching carousel once more down the road and the East may not be so forgiving by then.

You're oversimplifying. If Eddie George was used side to side instead of downhill, he'd have been beaten up too. Big/tall rb need to do the hitting in order to stay healthy.

I never condone quitting mid-season, just saying Hurd had plenty of success and was on pace to break the all time record. He's not "the 3rd best back on our team," he's arguably the best back in Tennessee history given what he accomplished his first 2 years with a pitiful OL and a scheme that didn't even match his skill set.

I can believe the misuse of him has taken its toll on his body. I can also criticize him for not finishing the season.
