Granted, they only showed them a handful of times, but it was very concerning to see JRM, Sutton, and Kamara appear to not even be in the game. Help the other players with things they may be seeing...anything. They too looked out of it. Makes me believe what's already been said several times, but there is definitely some internal crap going on.

I believe it's been there all season given how this team has played, but it all finally came to an ugly head last night. Horrible.

yea it means we shake off last night and pending the lsu florida result we could win out and win the east. its not about winning in atlanta its about making progress as a program after spending a few years in the basement. division champs with wins over our two main division rivals. how soon we forget. nvm lets just hope we lose out and fire our coach and return to the cellar. smh

Beating Tennessee Tech isn't a shake off game.

The program is at a crossroads right now. Either we keep doing what we've been doing with the personnel we have and hope for a better outcome... or we start making strategic changes right now with more changes in the offseason. One is insanity; the other is risky.

Or we lower our expectations to avoid conflict and change, which has not worked out well for us in the past.

I appreciate you as a poster but we need solutions. Not one of the three you give is desirable. I think he should've taken Dobbs out for a few plays if not the game. He did not do that but you can't win with QB play like that. Could it have been worse? Possibly but not by much. QB should be opened back up to competition which is what we have always heard that each spot was up from week to week. Name new captains for each game day and admit changing it was a mistake. Hold everyone accountable including the staff on down to fight each week for your job and let the staff know they are being evaluated and changes will be made this off season if they do not dig in and produce. Will this work? Maybe or maybe not but something has to change. CBJ needs to also hire an OC and let them bring in their own staff and run their O. Also make it open for the DC to bring in his own staff as well. This is a bad loss but they need to shake it up and win out and 9-3 will not be what we wanted but can still be sold as a step in the right direction especially if QD balls out. Might be the gamble he has to take.

Shoop has TWO things I HATE.

Why blitz but play off coverage?

And why the hell are insistent on putting safeties on slot men? What got us beat in OT versus Texas A&M. Same thing happened to Warrior on the TD. Route combination was made to beat that coverage. I've never seen CBs not have near picks in games but we aren't close to generating turnovers. Don't know why but we aren't remotely close. Smh

That TD was miscommunication which is why it has been said Nigel has not played more. He has mental lapse in judgement from time to time and that was a perfect example of both of them going to cover the same guy. Seems Warrior is the one who blew it.

Well, for what it's worth, I'm not taking the loss as hard as I thought I might. The last ten years have taught to expect less from Tennessee. In my heart of hearts I was never truly optimistic about Atlanta after how we played in the opener. I kept thinking game after game that we would either lock in and roll or that the wheels might come off the bus. The wheels are off at the moment. Hope we can get them back on. This team has too much talent to be playing this badly.

I'm honestly a believer that as a program we are much closer to Norte Dame, Penn State and Nebraska than we are to Bama. A former power that can remain competitive, but for which consistent greatness may be a thing of the past.

I've got to take my annual break from VN much earlier this year. Too much negativity for me again and life's too short to let the wishwashiness of teenagers playing (or at least participating in) football on a Saturday ruin it for me.

The Vols never led in last night's game. STs got a boneheaded penalty on the opening kickoff. The O had 3 TOs and spotted SCAR 14 points on 2 of them. The D let a HS QB run all over them for 4 qtrs. The FG was just the punctuation mark on a night full of inexcusable errors by an undisciplined football team.

Our problems started :01 in and lasted till :00 was left.

This times a million!

We had more talent and got outcoached. If it's a pattern, then it will be corrected...by Butch or by those above him. He's transformed our talent base and raised our standards...now he has to live by them. Losing to South Carolina was indefensible...so I won't.

YAY butchna!

I really think that Butch has done a good job getting us back from where we were.... but he's not the man to get us where we need to be. He's maxed out. I've concluded that much.

Bring me Jim Bob.

It's hard to see a path to championship level under Butch at this point. Recruiting is not at a championship level, there is nothing noteworthy from a development standpoint, and the game planning/in game coaching has been below average.

We all think Azzanni is terrible with WRs. Well he's also Passing Game Coordinator. Hmm. It ain't some illuminati puzzle.

Butch bragged on the heart of Barnett, Jennings and Berry during the game, but he failed to mention Kelly. That kid played his heart out.

Just saw Jimbo's press conference last night.

Give me that guy leading my team anytime. Guy tells it likes he is and sticks up for his guys.

Our officiating was terrible but the calls against Florida state were criminal. They won that game and were robbed.

The targeting against Marshall was a joke and kept that drive alive that led to them to trailing by 2. The illegal block was insane and not only eliminated a 40+ yard run but then they tack on a 15 yard penalty against Jimbo for arguing it. It was then that I knew Florida State had no chance.
