Atlanta Braves Thread (I HURT MYSELF TODAY TO SEE IF I STILL FEEL)

I think I've just automatically written both Hurd and Kamara off as going pro after this year. Is there any chance one or both of them could stay?

Hurd is gone.

Kamara maybe if he wants to be a feature back but personally I think he blows up once he declares.

Wonder how come we abandoned the Hurd/Kamara combo in the backfield we saw on the first drive today? I thought it was effective, and I don't know if I saw it again the rest of the game.

We ran it a little bit but definitely should have used it more.

Honestly at this point it needs to be less Hurd though

I get it, but I think he had like 19 yards on his first two carries? I just don't know that he's the slaw everyone is making him out to be.

I am totally in favor of Kamara getting more touches, though. And I like what I see out of Kelly.

Hurd just can't get quickly right now. Idk what it is. Still use him but more situational

He's definitely not as fast. I've been waiting for him to break one for about three years now. I just don't think he has the breakaway speed.

Not sure how well he's going to grade out for the draft.

I've calmed down now. Finish reading this before you blast me. It's not as negative as it is going to seem.

Here's the deal: Alabama has a superior football team. Alabama has a superior football program. Alabama has a superior athletic department. Alabama has a superior university.

And they will for the foreseeable future.

Alabama's leadership has made a commitment to excellence that trumps anything Tennessee's has ever done. They pay for Saban and Kiffin without any hesitation. They pay their strength coach half a million dollars a year. They hired Sark to help the offense. They invest football money into the university to procure more resources. They invest in the education to draw more high end students. They do everything it takes to win in all arenas.

Ever looked at Bryant Denny and the field? It never looked like Neyland did the last few years. Commitment to excellence.

Facilities? A1. Commitment to excellence.

Hell, I watched what they did during a timeout. They had five trainers on the field with squirt bottles as soon as timeout was called. We had two guys slowly saunter out there eventually.
They are even committed to excellence during water breaks.

Nick Saban is not our issue. Butch Jones is not our issue. The players are not our issue. The issue is one university is committed to excellence while the other just says the right things in a press conference.

We need to decide if we want to be 90s Tennessee or 00s Tennessee. There is no middle ground. We can be Alabama. We can be Ohio State. We can easily be the current Clemson. We've just got to make the commitment to greatness it takes to compete in that arena. We have not done that yet.

No they don't. They're better at football. But we're better at school.

I know nothing about you, so I have no idea if you understand how mostly beside the point even championship-level football is to a university community at large. It's just not as big a deal as you'd think it is. Maybe Alabama is more committed to football than we are because they had more trainers run out with water than we do; maybe not. But it means zippo as far as who has the superior university.

The money and national exposure helped them build a superior university.

By what metric?

Ironically enough, U.S. News & World Report has the two schools tied as the 46th best public university in the country and 103rd overall.

Access Denied

Edit: no clue why it shows up as "Access Denied" but link appears to still work anyway.

They gave Vernon Davis an excessive celebration penalty for pretending the goalpost was a hoop and shooting a jump shot? I hate the NFL so much.

Glad they're cracking down on this stuff. Player safety has to remain top priority.

Lmao.

Then Lewis (the Bowling Green receiver from the Giants) does a 15 second dance that is infinitely more unnecessary and nothing gets called. It's a joke.
