This is the issue, it's about profit, once the states start realizing they can make more money legalizing it than confiscating it will be done. They don't give a **** about whose lives are affected by addiction. This is evident with alcohol and pharmaceutical narcotics.

Actually the issue is personal responsiblity. Either you believe in it or not.

Prolonged and habitual use of weed DOES do damage to a person's life, ask anyone who works in mental health, addiction counseling, etc.. That said, hard to make the case that recreational use is a good reason to jail people. Not sure what the happy medium is.

The one with the crystal ball bong.

I'm aware it's highly unlikely that anyone from the team will be posting here. However, there are plenty of others who aren't part of the team that could have valid information. Really starting to lose respect for this board and it's users. That being said this is my last irrelevant post on this topic. Hopefully things go well for DOB and the team moves forward with the next man up.

My last post as well, can't do this thread anymore. But don't expect stuff to get out from this team about inside info. Blame that on local media.

If a patient comes in after an injury and has altered mental status, neuro changes, abnormal vital signs, etc, a tox screen could be indicated to rule out other causes for such findings. Very common test in trauma cases.

Do they do tox screens if they are going to give serious pain meds?

I've had numerous kidney stones.. Normally they ask but they could've tested me for all I know.. Not generally paying attention when I'm in that kind of pain..

The hospital will not drug test you without cause or without informing you. They cannot release that info as far as I know. I would imagine that he was tested prior to the game and with it being his last strike it was sent to a lab for confirmation. He more than likely failed it prior to Saturday.

Not correct. They test everybody before they will give a controlled substance. They also need to know if drugs could be causing the problem/symptoms. They never tell you unless you ask. Even then they may not give you the complete story. Sometimes it depends on how difficult or combative you are being,

They did a drug screen every time and told me what was in my system.

Why did they do a drug test? What were you in the hospital for? (not to be nosy; they have to have a reason)

And they can release the results to you all day long. Just not to someone else without (1) your consent or (2) a legal reason. For instance, I can't go to your hospital's Health Information Management department and say, "Hey, I hear you did a tox screen on DMichel. What were the results?"

Usually not, without some reason for suspicion or in the cases I explained.

Then it was more than likely a blood test. He would have to literally he Hugh during the game to fail a blood test the hat Kate in the day unless it was something other than pot. I still think it was a day before thing.

Auto-correct strikes again!

If you've failed one before you will be tested again

From a very reliable source on Danny O'Brien being dismissed from team:

Urine drug test came back with THC.

Not necessarily done in ER.

Because it's a dangerous drug and a gateway drug. I grew in Colorado and I've seen what is does to people.

opinions are like *******s I suppose.i've seen first hand a very good friend die of cancer and cannibis was the only drug to alleviate his vomiting and allow him to eat in his last days on earth.

personally I would consider alcohol to be more of a gateway drug as people seem to be more stupid drunk than stoned..just my 2 cents.

Not by a hospital. They have nothing to do with team/ SEC/ NCAA policy. If they test you, it must be for a medical reason (unexplained mental status changes, etc) or at the formal request of law enforcement.

Actually this is wrong, I have been given pain meds with no testing at the hospital. I doubt they were sedating him at the hospital anyway. He was released immediately it sounds like. Kidney stones hurt like a mother!!! The
