So I have a week off from school and thus a little free time on my hands. Do y'all want me to make a Current Commits thread for the '18 class or are we just gonna stick with Bologna's megathread? It makes no never mind to me but it does take a little bit of work and didn't want to get into it if everyone thinks it isn't needed. Thanks buddies!!

Yes, please. Nothing against Tony's, he did great work, and it's much appreciated, but wouldn't have go through 2017 info if just wanting 2018 info.

Much thanks sir if you do it!

As usual, had we played UF later in the year we would have won big.

2013: UF is decimated by injuries and loses to Vandy and Ga Southern late in the season
2014: UF's offense continues to be slaw all year and the Vols find offense with Dobbs
2015: Grier gets suspended and the Gators' offense regresses to 2013/2014 levels under Harris

It's really amazing how that works out for us. This year though I think we MIGHT actually benefit considering it will be Del Rio's first road game after three pushovers. If the Gators come in confident and then get punched in the mouth it could really work in Tennessee's favor.

So he will probably be Tebow Part Deux.

All about getting game ready, being game ready. Mock game is tonight inside Neyland Stadium (closed to media, all)

Very typical to have couple days off after today, what do they do to help body recover. There will be some recovery items they have to do to get themselves ready to go.

Want that energy excitement.
I actually started it as an assistant coach, and when i became a head coach, spend time or nervous energy, little bit a check on myself to see where I'm spending my time, nervous energy, thought process. Compare teams to where other teams were at the same time.

Lends itself to be able to go back and look at things. No two days are ever the same. Every day there's something different. Being able to keep track, go back and rely on that. Rely on that quite frequently. Situational football that have occurred throughout 10 years, throughout practice, etc.

Jones says JRM is 100%. HE's shown it throughout the course of his career.

Butch on Jennings:

We do anticipate him being available for the opening game, know more this week.

-247 coverage on Coach Jones

Vols had a start fast period yesterday, Jones says they basically scrimmaged.

Dormady is 1 snap away, he's the backup and had his best day of prax yesterday

Jones on Tuttle:

Shy continues to be work in progress. Is he game-ready yet? We'll see. Game ready now? No, but we don't play for nine days. I think he's right on schedule, doing anything and everything we ask of him.

On rookies:

We're going to play a lot of true freshmen, think 4 individuals from recruiting class who are on plans to redshirt. let season play out, may be someone not ready for appy state but may be ready 3-4-5 weeks from now

On spread offense:

Everyone who runs it has a personality different to them. Being unique to us, it may be tempo, personnel, formational. We have multiple tempos within our inventory of offense. Don't think can play football at one constant speed. Have to protect your defense, didn't turn ball over much very often. Only started our defense on its own 50 12 times all year. That's part of the winning formula. Each game is different, each game has a different storyline for winning.

Jones on this team's prep to this point:

First games are the games of the unknowns. Might think really good in some area but could be your team is deficient in that area on the other side of the ball. Prepare for anything & everything. Start fast, finish strong. I do like the mentality of our team.

Praises Kahlil, approach, mind-set, body right. Football stamina and strength better.

Also Butch says this recruiting class will ultimately shine as bright or brighter than any other class signed

"This recruiting class will rival any of the recruiting classes we've had here." Butch on the freshmen class.

Butch: Our past two classes had been so-called top-five classes, but this freshman class will be as good as any class we've had.

If Tuttle plays in the first half of the season it will be a surprise. Dude probably wont be ready to actually play till the last game or two of the season.

He's not lying. This class has as many studs on it as the other classes. It's smaller but as far as the elite players in the class there will be plenty.

Warrior might be a legend before he leaves. The fact that he's fighting for a starting job against guys who could start on a lot of SEC teams tells you want you need to know.

Kongbo will take a while to get comfortable but he'll be pretty good.

Byrd seems to have success written all over him.

Buchanan will backup Sutton this year but wouldn't be surprised to see him get some 1st team reps on the other side.

OTs look like steals.

JG has some special talent but we'll see how that translates to onfield success.

Next year we'll be pretty stout just like this year.

SHOOP:

Safety is abernathy and kelly
nickel: gaulden and foreman
corner: sutton, moseley

Have to play many, excited about Nigel Warrior, Justin Martin will play, Buchanon and Griffin among others mentioned as well.

It's hard to tell when the coaches are being honest or just not telling the whole truth. I talked to a few guys and they don't seem overly confident in him playing early. Hopefully he plays early and plays good and then destroys UGA.

Hubbs said he could, should, and likely will play game 1. Rob Lewis said worst case scenario he's held out until Florida. He's too valuable to hold him out until the latter half of the season, and if he was that banged up they would just redshirt him. Tuttle at 80% is still probably our 2nd or 3rd best DT right now.

I do believe Shoop has already stated he wants Tuttle to play in Game 1. I fully expect him to play. Need to knock that rust off of him before we really need him,

Coffee is well known to have many health benefits. People that don't drink coffee are clearly wrong and should be watched closely. They may be alien spies sent here to prep our planet for an invasion. If they won't drink our miracle drink they are most likely trying to kill us.

Nah, just put a little more effort into harassing TonyB with your extra time. It's more entertaining.

Hubbs repeats what UT tells him to repeat. Now I'm not saying he's wrong, just the players I've talked to didn't seem confident in Tuttle's early return.

I hope he plays early and is as good as before he got hurt. Kid could be a really special player on the inside for us.

Hope to see that big #2 trot out there in 9 days.

Lol, why would they lie about Tuttle's status for App State? It makes no major difference if he plays or not vs a team like that. No need for gamesmanship vs a Sun Belt team. He's on film moving really well. There is no conspiracy about his health.

Kind of some optimism about Alexis Johnson playing sooner than later. Shoop said he doubts he can help this first week though.

Man getting Shy and Alexis in the rotation for SEC play is gonna be great.
