Phelps is the greatest Olympian of all time.

Bolt might not even be the best runner of all time. Nurmi, Lewis both have more medals I believe. (Bolt will probably catch them this Olympics)

There hasn't been a better Sprinter ever. Probably won't be another one. He's a FREAK ATHLETE. 6'5 and running like that is a RARE occurrence. And performing at a high level consistently without any injuries or setbacks. He's the GOAT of sprinting.

Info like that kept under the wraps

You're often too busy playing the victim to have a rational conversation, but I did have a reason for asking. This is a quote of mine from my thread, Mid-Summer Depth Chart Projections:

This was about the time you showed back up on VolNation. I wanted to know if you had anything concrete or if you took my pure speculation and are spreading it as fact. TIA.

You were his source and he got mad at you?!??! Classic Bologna!

You are not his only victim by the way. That is how he operates.

Apparently there was a vote for checker Neyland and it resulted in the Florida game. Thoughts?

I'm not a superstitious person, and fan gimmicks don't win or lose games.

However, the streak against Florida almost seems surreal. I would be more than okay with choosing a different game and possibly sacrificing a chicken for this one.

Fort just said that Picou will be able to provide some snaps at DT this season. I thought he was a year or two away. Also said Kongbo is legitimately capable of lining up as a true DT.

DT depth is great now, albeit comprised of:

-A guy coming back from a serious injury
-A guy who has never played a down of college football
-A guy who hasn't practiced with the team since arriving on campus in February
-A guy who has been primarily a DE and has only played college football for a few years

Still, I like the look of this:

KMack/O'Brien/Picou
Vickers/Tuttle (until healthy)/Kongbo/Johnson

Plus the host of DEs who can play inside when necessary.

If you like Owen Williams, you will like Picou. Has shed the baby fat, high motor, quick.

Kongbo is intimidating to see physically. Really looking forward to his development and use.

D-line is the least of our worries. That being said, I'm not really worried about any position group. Fans and posters on here will understand when they see this roster in action.

Shoop is the difference maker. Opens the full tool box for Butch to use and Butch knows it.

We will be fine.

So how many years do you guys think we get out of Shoop? I think 2 years max, maybe even just this year.

That would suck, but I think he will get some looks after what he does this year.

You got Kenyans and Ethiopians dominating long distance in track and field. Those are two of the poorest countries in the world. Jamaica an island country with 2.8 million people is dominating in sprinting.

Find me poor countries like that doing anything in swimming?

Its ridiculous for you to act like there is some great barrier to entry in track and field. Its the PUREST SPORT IN THE WORLD. Anyone can go out and run. You don't even need shoes. All you need is earth and your feet.

Swimming on the other hand requires training to learn how to swim since its not natural for humans to be in the water. Beyond that you need actual swimming pools to train and there aren't many of those in developing countries. The fact only a select group of countries compete in swimming should let you know that it isn't a sport with equal access for all.

I'm a little late to this party, but this debate stemmed from you saying Bolt, Ali, and Jordan are the best athletes of all time.

And Basketball and Boxing have their own barriers to entry as well. For basketball, you need either need gyms or a climate conducive to year round practice. Furthermore, you need coaches and the best are all in the US. So you have to lure one to your country. If you're in a poor area with poor facilities, good luck getting the type of coaching it takes to mold a Michael Jordan. There's a reason you only see developed countries being competitive in basketball.

Boxing's barrier to entry is a lot different. It's that people now know the risks associated with a sport that involves regularly getting knocked unconscious and people increasingly want no part of it. There's probably been someone since Ali who had it in them to be a much better fighter (though I'd argue there have been better fighters since and Ali's larger than life persona defines his greatness just as much as his skill in the ring), but decided they'd rather be able to walk and remember their children at age 62.

If we do so well this year that he gets a considerably better gig and leaves, I'll give him a friendly wave and a thanks for his hard work :)

No, yoga. I thought that was what the poster was referring to. Maybe it was stretching but my understanding it was yoga. Thanks!

Done correctly, yoga is one of the truly elite forms of stretching. Unlike the stretches that most do (only focuses on one muscle or muscle group), yoga may stretch up to 5-6 different groups simultaneously. A 30 minute yoga program can be the equivalent of about 2 1/2 of regular stretching.

Unfortunately, many think yoga is at least partly religious (Hinduism) . That is where the opposition usually comes from. Many yoga instructors preach harmony with the universe and body/mind/soul. The true secret to success in yoga is really very simple...focus on slow steady controlled breathing. If done properly, it truly decreases muscle and body tension. Thus leading to quicker results in the muscle lengthening process. (And no, your johnson is not a muscle)
