Defensive backs are getting burned by our quarterback and our receivers in the first few practice sessions.
Where is this great improvement everyone is talking about?.
When we go up against a good passing team, they will kill us.
I was hoping for a big change under Shoop. So far i`m not seeing it.

Shoop, backs, make me eat crow.

I believe the majority of the plays you're talking about are where true freshmen dB's are getting beat by true freshmen receivers. That's not going to effect this year negatively. If anything it means we might have extra options at WR.

Last year our secondary got torched in the opener against BG. If we are getting burnt by appy state, then panic. Also, we will get a much better idea about the defensive backs when they scrimmage.

From what I've read, it's only been with the Frsh. battles

You might be right. I`ll take another look.

Would you feel more positive about the team's potential if all the videos showed the WR's not able to catch any balls and the DB's making one interception after another? I know I would. The confidence knowing that our QB's can't throw against nor can our receivers get open against the DB's would be awesome! We would have nothing to worry about knowing that our DB's where going to save the day and win the games by knocking down passes. Oh crap, I just realized ... the opponents might run the ball. Now what? Plan B.

Don't get too worked up either way. We don't really have access to practice, and all we see are short clips. On paper this team has what it takes to compete at the highest level, and the depth and skill on the defensive front should make the job of the defensive backs easier this year. But we really won't know till September.

It's easy to make DBs look bad when a QB has no pressure to make a throw to a wideout.

Even if they happen to be weak, which can't be judged right now, our insane DL and LBs will keep a load of pressure off of the defensive backfield. I fully expect us to lead the entire country in sacks- or at least be top 5.

FAHR BUTCH!

The game looks a lot different when there are no pads on and no live contact, as well..

That's the thing about practice OP. It just shows whether you're a glass half full or half empty poster. Someone has to win the reps.

I'm shocked by the lack of Allen Iverson 'We talkin' 'bout practice' gifs/memes in this thread.
