Shoop gives props to Colton Jumper

In that press Q&A, Coach Shoop pointed out something I hadn't put together prior: we have three coordinators (offense, defense, and special teams) who ALL have head coaching experience. So they all understand the big picture, as well as their coordinator roles.

That is amazingly valuable.

Wonder how many other head coaches in America can say that of their staff?

Implying play for money is a low class move. Continuing to do it multiple times in the same thread makes you look pathetic. Kid works his tail off and obviously the coaches think highly of that

Agree 100%. Total ass hole comments

Thanks for pointing that out. That fact has been staring us all in the face, and I bet 99% of us missed it.

But, yeah. That IS huge.

You know the Chinese screw with their currency

That question was a popular comeback when I was in HS, and this was just the first time I had thought to use it since then.

Best response I ever heard? "It really ain't worth the wear and tear on the hen's ass."

To your statement, that could be taken many ways. In context, the Chinese aren't the only ones, but at least they just screw with their own.

My religious Aunt's response? "You need to keep your sick sexual fantasies to yourself."

He was a 4-star top 100 player.

If memory serves, Bates also announced his commitment to Tennessee at the same Nike event that Kahlil would announce at a year later.

And I am still one who holds out hope for him. He was looking good on special teams before he got injured his freshman year. I feel he has it in him to compete if he is right physically.

So that somehow proves how much money he gives to UT?

I'm pretty sure Bill Bates is doing well also.

My point was simply that Jumper isn't the only kid whose dad could exercise that kind of influence if the coaches were susceptible to it. There are several others.

It's the STUPIDEST conspiracy theory on this board! How much does the university and Butch lose from ALL OTHER boosters if it's found that a player can have his spot bought? More than this dad could cover! Risk too great for such minuscule reward.

His price might be real low ...

I remember the first time someone encouraged me to be PC.

It did not end well from their point of view.

I might have followed it up with giving a HS kid 5 bucks to burn a bag of dog poo on their porch on Halloween. Sadly, "Billy Madison" had not yet been made.

Did the same scene in Can't Buy Me Love...predated Billy Madison.

If players are playing because of their family ties and family contributions.... then why aren't either of the Berrys starting?

your on track. There is no way that influences the coaches. Carson Anderson (who father gives a lot more than Jumpers and Bates combined) road the bench for 5 years. But what he did for the team can't be measured.
