Amazing highlight package, and it didn't even include what may have been his greatest play last year. The tight rope in the bowl game for a TD was unbelievable athleticism.

As good as Manziel was at avoiding pressure, Dobbs isn't far off, but where he truly excels is just straight up running through guys. It's unbelievable. He can run through the line of scrimmage and get touched by 3-4 defenders and just slip right through. I've honestly never seen anything like it.

Also, nice usage of Verne and Gary's call of Cam's "Heisman run" against LSU in 2010 on the WR pass back to Dobbs in the Florida game.

Or the two passes to Ellis down the seam in that game also.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but:

Last night there was a shooting at the Fiji house directly in front of my apartment. No one got shot, but at least two football players where there. No arrests were made and the players weren't the ones with the weapons, but we got really close to a dark cloud last night.

Hopefully this wisens some of these players up on where they should and should not be.

We really are solid at DT when you think about it. I'm very comfortable with the first 5 we have there.

Not an issue unless the injury bug hits (any team will struggle if they lose, say, 2 DT during the course of the season).

Why would you even share this if no players had the weapons? This is just asking for trouble and starting drama.

Speaking of DTs, have we discussed the fact that Alexis Johnson appears to be standing directly behind and to the left of Ryan Johnson in this recent team pic?

Because it is factual information that relates to this university's football team. In the instance that someone gets disciplined or something comes out later, people will know the truth.

Pretty sure that's Darrell Taylor behind Ryan Johnson.

I still can't believe my eyes when I look at the Team 120 roster. The talent and depth is just amazing. It's great how far we've come since the vacuum of a roster CBJ inherited. In so many positions, we have 3-deep of legit SEC caliber talent. With the exception of DT, we are in excellent shape for 2016. Even the DT depth can be bolstered by DEs who can move inside given certain down and distance situations. 10 days till start of camp. Can't wait!!!

One more thought. Wonder if Alexis Johnson will be cleared in time to play this season. Hope so.

Bowling already is active for Tennessee, and he's considered among the nation's very best in his compliance role. Think about how well 'Bama has recruited and how little the Tide have faced any sort of NCAA blowback. Elsewhere in other campus news, the Vols have been undergoing skill development sessions and I believe have one more scheduled this week on Friday, with camp rolling today. Earlier this week Tennessee's coaches secluded themselves for their annual staff 'hideaway' as they put the finishing touches on camp plans and talked beliefs, philosophies and really delved into the plan moving forward. It's a setting where no phones are allowed, etc.

Continue to hear really good things on Shy Tuttle, whom some despite coming back from injury still believe is the best defensive lineman on campus. Jonathan Kongbo is up around 280 and looks really impressive as he adjusts while Rashaan Gaulden and Kyle Phillips are two who also have drawn praise. Gaulden if healthy should be a full-time starter and Phillips could have a big year as well, per folks on campus.

We noted Emory Jones coming into Knoxville, and I wouldn't expect that to be the only major target the Vols entertain in the next 48-72 hours. I think Ryan is working on another major target expected in by this weekend."

Butch is killing it with the hires. For people that think he doesn't know what he is doing or have the balls to make moves to win at high level I don't know what to tell you. Last year sure it bit him in the butt being so loyal to his friends but I'd say it's very very clear he learned that lesson. Scott and Shoop are major upgrades. Don't know about ScZern guy but to let Lawson walk was another ballsy move. Now going big on compliance director

I get the feeling the plan is to redshirt Alexis Johnson and then have him for 2017 and 2018. One reason is I believe he was placed on diversion for his case, which allows him to get it dismissed. But, I thought I saw the date for that to happen is in October. I don't think they will let him play until then, and I think it's best to save him since he wouldn't be in playing shape anyway.
