Yeah, hes a great player but we have heard literally nothing about this guy and we get a commitment today from him. It just seems like our recruiting is all over the place. No offense to the kid at all. Not to mention, hes still wanting to be recruited lol

I see it as bad news with getting both. I still think we get chandler.

Honestly, I don't think this impacts our RB recruiting at all. It seems like Butch has been recruiting the best athletes he can as of late and finding them a position based on need once they get on campus. Cotman could probably play DB, RB, or slot receiver but it seems like he wants to play DB. Solid pickup.

Yeah looks like we took him as a db so disregard.

Holy cow. I just noticed something. Is this strange? He put under his commitment that he is still open to recruiting. Now this may sound like a conspiracy theory, but do you think prospects are committing to places that do not pay out in order to up the ante to other schools that will make financial offers?

As a side note I am very happy we got this kid and in no way do I think this is what he is doing. It just occurred to me that if programs are paying students large sums to go to their program, that this is something that would happen a lot, given that an athlete would want to also get money out of their commitment.

Please don't summon the troll. Leb is all over this already.

This is what is strange to me. Why make a verbal commit if you are still open to recruiting? This kind of stuff has happened a lot more this cycle. I think we are seeing a pattern here.

But it makes perfect sense. If programs are dishing out a lot of money, how do you put pressure on them to give you money if you are an 18 year old? Commit to a rival school or at least a recruiting rival. Then the coaches have to be like, well how do we get him back on our side, better check the donor account...

I would like to THINK the young man for his partial commitment to the University of Tennessee.

Was not expecting that. Would feel better if he was a 4 star but he has speed. Like the fact that he plays in Florida. At number 367 on the 247 composite I am not jumping up and down over this guy. Especially with the limited number of spots we have. Are we giving up on Gibbs?

How do not think this kid is not on the take? Obviously, not committed.

Welp his last comment at the end there reads:

"I'm committed to UT until (insert here) really wants me."

My guess is Florida State but negativity aside I hope we keep him!

Honestly, this one screams he tried to commit elsewhere and was told to wait. Rather than keep waiting, he found a place who said yes today. Seems he'll keep looking while thinking he's got a spot saved.

"Likely corner. He has played a lot of safety, but in talking to several tonight a lot of people think his skill set translates to corner nicely."

"I would say it was surprising. We've known he's liked Tennessee for a while, but I didn't think he was close to pulling the trigger.

He told me he started looking at Tennessee's numbers and felt like it was probably time to do something. If you read the story, you could tell it even took Scott by surprise.

Now, I think he probably takes a few official visits and I don't think UF will stop recruiting him, either. But, I think Butch has had a good track record with keeping guys in the boat once they've committed."

Interesting, his HUDL film's title is "GODS GIFT". That's either very conceited or he's praising God for his abilities lol. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say the later.

Except in May he said UT, O$U, UNC and Ole Miss were recruiting him the hardest and at the top of his list. He said back then that us, UNC and O$U would definitely get visits in the fall. He was planning on waiting till NSD (and may still) so I don't see why there would've been much updates in the last 2 months. The out of LF aspect is that he did something sooner than anyone expected.
