'15 TX ATH Ryan Newsome

please no - if he can't cut it at texas, he shouldn't be able to cut it here. We have plenty of other young and talented options.

Many of the Texas fans seem disappointed at losing him. He was projected to be their starting returner. He is a little short, but the dude is fast.

Coach Z started following him on twitter in the last day, so I'm assuming we are interested.

I glanced at his Twitter, looks like he had one tweet of him and Coach Z
With "hmmmmm" written underneath.

Maybe there is mutual interest.

we were in his top 3 last time. UCLA was high on his list also. I know He, KMac and Kirkland all hit it off pretty good last yr.

Yeah, and none of these other options we have are exactly proven. Most of them are inexperienced.

If the coaching staff thinks he is worth a shot then I see no reason why we shouldn't give him a chance. We need more slot receivers. And depth at WR is NEVER a bad thing. If you have a 4* receiver sitting on the bench because he isn't cutting it then at least you know you are doing something right. And, not to be negative, but it isn't like we are exactly excelling at WR recruitment right now. So we need all the help we can get.

IIRC (a big "if" going back 2 years), we were a heavy contender for him in his original recruitment. Can't remember if we passed, or if he just didn't maintain interest in us. Originally committed to UCLA and then flipped to Texas around signing day.

We were definitely in it. Kid just picked TX over us. Not sure just where he would fit in, but plenty talented enough to play at UT.

Not a pass. Wanted to stay close to home it seemed and Texas beat us out. I'm surprised he is transferring. Anyone know why??
