Yeah, but 3 of those 4 stars are DT's and a DE. Will be huge when the Vols get them next year. Not to mention they already have the best player in TN in Mays. Hopefully they can get the other top guys too. Mays and Taylor should help us here as they are actually peer recruiting.

I hope we get them. Lots of TN kids not wearing the Orange stings.

The hype around Mays makes it seem like he could be in contention for #1 overall in 2018. He was dominating elite high school DL who are a full year/year and a half older than him at camps.

We may only land 3 or 4 of the Top 15 in-state players, but there are many good players from other states that fit our needs and system. The coaches can recruit over some of these in-state targets if we scale back our focus on trying to lock down the state-- a strategy that isn't working this year. UT has always recruited nationally, and we do well in GA and FL and are making inroads in VA and WV. For a multitude of reasons, 2017 in-state recruits aren't showing a lot of loyalty to Tennessee-- even those who grew up loving the orange. Time to regroup and move on.

With Locklear's commitment today, does that mean the staff has gotten news on one of our other OL targets? I guess the first name that comes to mind is Brahms. Maybe he has informed the staff that he is going to Auburn.

I'm thinking 3-4 OL total for 1017. Is that the prevailing opinion?

Yes Brahms is going to Auburn and we are taking 4 OL tops.
