who's predicting a double digit win over UF

Last two recuiting classes were subpar? Mac's first class got the #1 OT and # 2 DE in the class along with two 4* RBs. This year, we signed 25 players and 13 of them were in school for spring practice.

Remember what Grier did to you last year (23/42 283 2TDs), if Del Rio was able to play last year, he would have won the job. Last year, we had one Lineman with starting experience, this year we have 6.

Tennessee has been the better team the last two years. Unfortunately, CBJ has been out coached (yes, by Muschamp). A lot of the people drinking the Vol Koolaid want to look at their last 6 games and say "we're back". What they don't see is that records of the last 5 teams they played in the regular season - 18 wins and 41 losses.

I still don't think Dobbs can beat any team, throwing the ball. I still don't think your receivers can beat the Gator CBs.

With all the trash talk going back and forth between the players, this game looks like it will be the best game in years.

I CAN'T WAIT!! 79 days and counting

We have not been the better team the last two years. Only last year. Yes, last year was a choke of epic proportions, and the year prior was a choke as well but I would say 2014 the teams were on equal footing offensively, and UF had the decisive defensive advantage.

And I want to know what Gator Kool-aid you are drinking then? To sincerely believe you march into Neyland against the exact same squad as last year, plus some freshmen studs, and beat us 27 to 9? I am not saying we are 100% winning the game (although we should), but you are delusional to believe you hold us to 9 points at home. So keep telling yourself how improved the Gators are and avoid the possibility that TN has improved as well.

We can't say that we were better than Florida or even on equal footing as Florida the last 2 years.

They had multiple players drafted the past few years and we didn't. On paper they were far superior to us. But yet we were in both games and could have won both games if we had avoided a few mistakes.

This year we are on equal talent levels with Florida, Offensively we are better Defensively we will have to wait and see. This is the first year that people should be saying that we have a chance to beat Florida because of our talent.

just wondering who thinks its close

10 point win

or absolute blowout

cant help but notice the confidence which ill admit is for a reason youve recruited well and return dobbs, kamara, hurd on offense

plus barnett, jrm, sutton, and quite a few youngsters that should get better like kirkland, tuttle, mckenzie, phillips etc

wr are stacked with talent too but zach azzanni kind of sucks almost like muschamp wr coaches

Vegas thinks it will be double digits but what the hell do they know.

As long as we never lead by 17 this coming season all will be good. So if we're up by 14 NEVER I MEAN NEVER attempt a FG. Or if we're up by 10 and score a TD YOU HAVE TO GO FOR 2...doesn't matter if we make it or not. JUST NO 17 POINT LEADS!! Got that Butch! :)

You are joking, right? You are pointing to the box score of a game where we had one of the worst offenses in recent UT memory and an offensive line that couldn't block a turtle.

If that is your basis for why TN only scores 9 points this year, it is laughable at best.

Yeah I have a hard time laying 12.5 but I'll take the over at 19 all day long!!!:thud::loco:

I think we are going to be up by 14-17 in the fourth again and everyone will be wondering if we're gonna blow the lead.

But we won't this time.

I'm thinking this game resembles 2005. 2 good defenses going at it with little risk taken by either team. Medley misses a game tying field goal and UF tacks on a late TD to seal it.

UF 20
UT 10

I can't blame you for not believing we'll win until you actually see it happen, but UF isn't winning by 10.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Those who read my posts know what I thought of Florida's talent level last season.

While I will freely admit that Florida's talent level is not where it normally is or where I would like it, it is a much, much better football team in 2016 than 2015.

Now, I don't want to be misunderstood. I know Tennessee should be a better football team too.

All I am saying is that some of you seem to speak as if Florida is going to be worse than last year. That's just not the case.

You will be better but you're not going to win as many games

Good lord. Mac's 2014 class was garbage. That is the lowest rated UF class since they started ranking classes . . . by a WIDE margin.

Well, considering CJM couldn't decide between Grier and Harris until the season had already started, I'm not sure his practice evaluations mean much.

Normally, I find that gator posters tend to be amongst the most reasonable on this board, but I just don't understand the confidence level in a QB that's never started a game.

There is no excuse for Tennessee to lose this game. Not saying it’s an automatic win, but there is no reason they should drop this one. First time in a while that we can all say that Tennessee is better on both sides of the ball this year. September 24th couldn’t come any slower...

Eh...I wouldn't definitively say we are better on the defensive side of the ball. Florida reloads talent on D at insane rates. I think we are as good as they are, but until I see Shoop's retooled defense then I would have to say its more of a push.

Florida is only deep in secondary. They are thin at LB and DL. They are also another year removed from having an elite defensive coach. Geoff isn't elite.

Couldn't have been CJM's 2014 UF class....he was still at Colorado State iirc.

Just because they have had a lot of players drafted the past couple years doesn't mean a talent gap. Just ask 08 and KB. Talent must not equal NFL draft picks.

Actually, Florida is danger thin at CB. Our starting secondary will be the best in the country but we have no experience behind the starters. Our D-Line is deep and we have some good freshman and redshirt freshman coming in.

What do you think was CBJ's first class. Couldn't have been 2013 because he was at Cincinnati???

It was CJM's first class albeit a short time frame.

Dude, do you even math? Butch wasn't at Cincinnati in 2013....he was hired to be our new head coach in December of 2012 and his first season as Tennessee's head coach was 2013.

Jim McElwain was the head coach of Colorado State in 2014......just like Butch was Cincinnati's coach in 2012.

If you want to make the accurate comparison, you compare Tennessee's 2013 class, the first class which Butch was responsible for, with Florida's 2015, the first class McElwain was responsible for.

Of course, if you want to continue to try and make the argument that Colorado State's head coach in 2014 was responsible for Florida's 2014 recruiting class, go right ahead.

Well allow me to retort.

Yes in fact butch was hired in December of 2012. He then had short order to assemble the 2013 class which I said. This was his first class that included JRM and Dobbs.

CJM was hired in late 2014 and didn't have much time to assemble his 2015 class. This class is the class I believe the original poster intended to address because Florida's 2014 was a top ten class.

You are correct though that the best comparison classes are Butch's 2014 vs Horse faces 2016. In that case Butch's class was much more dynamic.

Who is your two deep on DL?
