I remember a post or article a couple months ago mentioning Butch may use his rebuild at UT into an NFL gig. While a bit far fetched at this point, not impossible if UT is playing for an SEC title this year. If recruits are hearing or thinking it's possible, It could definitely play into decisions.

Or maybe recruits are being fed that Butchs job isn't secure because of the lawsuit, Baylor, etc. Cheek and Hart on their way out maybe they think Butch is next? Just trying to figure this mess out.

Personally, I feel they have the right to be trolls (within the bounds of decency of course). And we have the right to put them on ignore.

Tbh I think Butch would make a pretty bad NFL coach

Cheek out should boost everything athletics wise. Hart may walk, but I think he's done well. Comparing UT to the Baylor situation isn't close imo. Butch's job isn't in danger unless it's him choosing to head to the NFL. Even if we only win 7 games this year, he won't be fired for several years after the rebuild.

IMO the staff may have very much misused the Mo that the gray commitment could and should have given us.

I think the flury of lower ranked commits just after that hurt. All those commits overshadowed a huge get in gray and perhaps played a role in the negative recruiting that goes saying we aren't going to recruit enough elite players

Callahan thinks we land a top 10 class if we win 10 games.

Tennessee has some momentum with Ty Chandler, and Trey Smith is probably going to name a group of finalists that will include the Vols later this week during The Opening Finals.

Butch and co better be giving Gray the red carpet treatment from here on out. Hopefully he was turned off to the fiasco of yesterday and isn't swayed by the three Clemson amigos. I do kind of agree with Bruin the timing of all the commits overshadowing a little.

A few people....lol. I'm putting whole threads on ignore. As soon as I saw Higgins to Clemson I put that thread on ignore. I wasn't about to put myself through the garbage I knew was going to be in there.

It is very odd... If I had to guess its negative recruiting, very easy to convince someon the hype isn't real. Just look at all the people that say "Tennessee has been projected to win the east 3 years in a row and hasn't"

Calling GFW, BO and others. Just want their take on it really not to be mad at them. I really do appreciate the information they bring. We can't win them all.

I thought GFW posted. Pretty sure BO did. Everybody's saying the same thing-- all info pointed to UT and CBJ thinking we were good with Tee. Which was at odds with local kids saying Tee and Amari were all-in Clemson. Peer recruiting. It matters.

Yeah Callahan says that it seemed like if he Tee decided to commit in the summer it was all Clemson but the recent visits went very well. So basically Tee just trolled us on his own
