I think he will be a definite upgrade over Treon Harris, but most Gators with any sense knows there is no way to determine how good he really is until he starts playing against SEC defenses.

He did great in the Orange and Blue game, but he also knew he wasn't going to be hit. I'll be eager to see how he handles it when the pressure is on.

Do I hope he is the second coming of Tebow? Yep.

Do I expect him to be? Nope.

I just hope he is able to make a decision and get the ball to the one who is open.

Should be a fun game!

I'm sorry things didn't work out for Nate at UT, but he has bounced back at Pitt. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. He just got married, too, so he is doing okay. :)

I hope to keep posting over here. Ya'll have some good folks that I enjoy talking football with.

Seems like the season will never get here...lol.

Hope Nate Peterman turns himself into an NFL draft pick. He has certainly improved since leaving UT. I think he made the right decision for himself. A better opportunity & he's now Pitt's starting QB. I call that a success & wish him the best.

Never.

I will stay in that stadium until the college football world is ground to dust beneath our beloved Volunteers' collective heels.

That or until I get hungry, whatever.

A lot of people around here thought Matt Simms was going to be special by the way he looked at his time in JUCO/practice. It's just another level that you can't compare until you see them take the field in a game situation. Rarely you get a C. Newton. Most of the time you get a Simms.

I agree. As much as we hope for greatness out of the unproven, we are disappointed more often than not.

But it's nice to hope. :)

You are not one of the gator fans I would classify in the unrealistic category.

It's fascinating those that think he is an upgrade over Grier as well. He may be but Grier was pretty dang good. First real test will be here on the road. Will be interesting

I'll be happy to see a Peterman in the swamp kind of performance from him.

Case in point why the QB position is the most difficult for recruiters to assess, judge, and predict.
