who's predicting a double digit win over UF

I'm taking my daughters to their 1st game, the FL game, this year. Hoping for a similar experience!!

Good luck man, this year is going to be insane. I realize I'm not telling you something you don't know. I just expect the blood lust this year to be at an all time high. I am confident this year will rival and surpass '98.

People like that disgust me.

If you don't believe your team will win every game it plays STOP WATCHING or going to the games.

You have no grounds to make those comments. Your a self-admitted bandwagon fan. Cmon bro
I will be here to put you in check. I agree but you can't speak on this with your past negative comments about our top tier program.

Speaking of 98, the replay of that game is on SEC Network right now.

Dude, stop.

There are many games that you go into where one thinks their team is not going to win.

A lot of you are Tennessee Titan fans for crying out loud. Do you think you're going to the Super Bowl this year?

As a fan, you cheer like hell and hope for the best, but you certainly do not go into every game with full faith and confidence that you are going to win.

I don't buy for a second that any fan has gone into every contest that their team competed in and truly believed they were going to win.

Do you not understand how stupid this take is? Guess this is why you stopped watching and pulling for the Vols all those years ago when they became "trash"?

A true fan always watches, always pulls for his team....even when he has little to no expectation that his team can or will win. You obviously have no concept of this....you just bail on the team and move on to some other team.

At least he is sticking true to his colors. He openly admits he STOPPED WATCHING for about seven of our down years.

Edit: Didn't read KBVol's post (above me) before posting this, but it's nice to see that someone else had the same reaction.. naturally, it'd be you :p

After this beatdown, mcelwain and the florida players will be schooled and humbled, realizing they will be third place in the SEC east, with a long season ahead.

I don't care if we put the 85' Bears in Vol uniforms out there I will never pick another win over UF until I see it happen first.

I'm not quite that bad, as I fully expect the win this year, however, I am with you on the fact that I would never, NEVER predict a blowout or double-digit win. Just looking at the history, I've not seen blowout wins at all.

This game will be close, and it will be a 4th quarter game. Now, I fully expect that our defense will win this game for us in the 4th quarter....I feel we will be much more aggressive on D this year.

Our offense should be better than their offense, but even with all the losses UF has on D, they will still be a formidable defense.

Expect the win, but do not expect the blowout. We will get it done, but will be < 7 point game and come down to UF last possession.

Lol. Yeah, it would be me.

The first example I thought of was in 2013 when our team was awful and had to travel out to Oregon. Real, true Vol fans were hopeful that Tennessee would play well and could somehow, by some miracle, pull off the upset. But no one expected us to win that game, and sure enough, after Mariota and The Ducks went on a 59-0 run in about 2.5 quarters of play, reality set in. A real Vol fan 1. Did not expect to beat Oregon that day and 2. Was still behind the team and pulling for them 1000% the next week vs Florida and every other Saturday that season.....all while a guy like D4H would have nothing to do with the Vols because they were "trash".

FLA 14

TN 13

And our fans will be like.. :furious3::furious3::furious3: Again.

I like D4H's enthusiasm.

But I adore KB's loyalty.

If forced to choose between them, I will pick loyalty 100 times out of 100. Every. Single. Time. That's how much more valuable it is.

D4H, you might be confused by the concepts of "belief" and "hope."

Every Vols fan hopes we win every single game. Cheers the team on. Wishes them the very best.

It is possible to do that without believing, objectively, that we will win every game.

In fact, it may be the truest test of a fan's loyalty that they stick by the team--stay at the game, keep watching, don't turn their back--even when it becomes more and more clear that the team will not win this time. When "hope" and "belief" are at odds, that's when loyalty is tested.

You're a bright young fellow, D4H. You really are. But you can learn a great deal from KB and others like him.

break/break

Vols will win this year. Don't think it'll be double digits, but we'll get the W.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda. There are a ton of Sunday morning coaches in here. Its easy to sit back and say what should have been done.

The facts are people need to stop blaming ONLY Butch for the UF loss. Why do people seem to only focus on Butch's coaching mistakes and ignore the players huge execution mistakes?

You shoulda, coulda read the context. Both sides were arguing hypotheticals.

I've explained this MULTIPLE times. You will have player mistakes in every game. ALL OF THEM. You will have bad play calls.

You should NEVER have the types of strategical errors Jones made by going conservative and letting OU then UF "steal" games.

Hopefully he's learned better. If not, expect to see the same crap again. If you have a good opponent down... put them away. He tried to go "four corners" against both teams.... and both were too good for it. This will almost never cost him except against the best opponents.... but it will cost him frequently among them. If Jones is EVER to become a championship coach at UT, he MUST remain aggressive in situations like that.

I do not "believe" my team will win every game but I "expect" them to.... very different things. One is a "wish" or nice dream.... the other is a STANDARD.

This thread is funny! I will give my 2 cents, from a Gator persprective.

Last year, we came into the game with one O-lineman with starting experience in the SEC. We had one WR and one RB with SEC experience. With that said, our RB ran for over 100 yards. This year, we have 6 O-Linemen with starting experience, 3 WRs, 2 TEs with experience.

On defense, the biggest stat in the game for the Gators last year, was the number of missed tackles. On the last drive of the game, McCallister had an easy sack of Dobbs and failed to wrap up, leading Dobbs to run for 10-15 yards. Had he made the tackle, the ball would have been at the 50 yard line with possibly two plays remaining.

Our offense will be the best offense that Florida has fielded since Tebow has left. Our defense will be better than last years defense.

If you want to make money, bet on the Gator with the 12.5 point underdog role.

Florida 27
Tennessee 9

If I want to make money, I will search long and hard for any Gator fan willing to bet that Florida will beat Tennessee by 18 points in Knoxville on Sept. 24th. I highly doubt that I would find one though, including yourself.

This is a ridiculous post, not the least bit grounded in reality. You don't even know what your QB will look like nor can you say for certain that your defense will be better minus Hargreaves, Neal, Morrison and McCalister. It's safe to say that Tennessee's will be better, however.

Not that it hasn't already been said, but I also feel the need to just call you out on this load of bull****. I at least now see why you are a self-admitted bandwagon fan, because you would rather literally stop watching during seasons where we were horrible than stick through the rough years to enjoy the good ones.

This is just a stupid take. Being a sunshine pumper and expecting your team to win every game is just inconceivable. There are teams that are just better than you sometimes. You hope for the best but you prepare yourself for what is most likely to happen.

Put your money where your mouth is then and make a real bet with me. I can guarantee you that you won't beat us by 18, hold us to only 9 points, or score 27 on us. Take your pick, I will bet on any of those or all three.

If you honestly believe your defense is going to hold the same offense that scored 27 on you last year to just 9 POINTS then lol rofl haha whatever the phrases are because you are out of your mind. Your defense could very possibly improve but that is you also expecting our offense stays stagnant and doesn't get better either which means you are only looking at one side.

This could very well be the most delusional Gator Fan post on the VN board. Bring me LW or 99Gator. At least they aren't idiots.

Difference in last years game was coaching. Gators have a good staff. We just acquired Shoop and I strongly believe we have evened that playing field.

Florida still has fast guys.
They have some experience now.

Tennessee was the more talented team top to bottom last year and will be this year.

This game will decide the East like many years before.

Vols 30
Gators 21

Just realized that the game is on 9/24, my 65th freaking birthday. Vols win, what a great present. Will be at my son's "Tailgating for a Cause" and I predict that I will be "God's own drunk and a fearless man"!

Really? That's funny because I expect Tennessee to win every game they play. Why? Because it's ****ing Tennessee and we don't bow down to anyone. I can understand a Florida fan not expecting to win a game but not Tennesee boyo.
