2016 Election Thread Part Deux

So if Hillary gets ousted in the FBI primary and the DNC goes with Sanders (hard not to for them). Johnson might pick off enough states to prevent any electoral college winner and throw the election to the House.

Now we have a bit of a prisoners dilemma. Straight party voting would yield Trump over Sanders but the GOP isn't a fan of Trump. If enough defect to Johnson then Sanders wins IF D's stay unified on Sanders. However, if D's assume Trump might win they may see Johnson as the lesser of two evils and throw some votes his way. Staying on the party line means you get someone you don't want. Taking a risk to prevent one scenario yields a worse scenario.

FBI has to go through DOJ. DOJ is a political appointment. So we all know there will be no indictment .

With two POS candidates it's expected.

You have conservatives concerned that Trump isn't fiscally conservative enough, former Sanders supporters that don't think Hillary is liberal enough on social issues, and independents fed up with both. Decently sized voting base right there.

If it were Sanders or maybe Biden, I don't think Johnson would do nearly as well.

Once people realize it's okay to vote 3rd party we could have a significant election.

I do think the prisoner's dilemma applies to individual voters as well. Don't like Trump but dislike Hillary even more = concern a vote for Johnson enables Hillary. Same is true on the flip side.

I'm not sure where the tipping point is but I could see if Johnson gets in the debates and is polling around 20% to HC/Trumps 40 each then others holding their noses may transform that to a third each. If that happens all bets are off.

But, but, but if you vote for him; you're voting for Hillary!

In some cases you would be.

In other cases you'd be voting for Trump.

I can guarantee he'll be the reason Clinton loses a state she should have won and the same for Trump.

Trump in congress have started to drop. Sen. Mark Kirk says he cannot support Donald Trump

And be criminally charged with any assaults, deaths and vandalisms/damages.

Wifey and I were talking about this a couple days ago. We put it into the category of voter intimidation.

Make it possible to suspend the voting rights/privileges of people convicted of violently disrupting the political process. Suspend them from casting a vote in any election or referendum until one day past the next presidential election + fine, damages, and court cost.

I don't care which side their on.

Lawyers will have something else too chase.

Financiers and protagonist may rethink their actions or go broke.

So incase anyone was questioning if Trump and Hillary were truly the worst candidates in history or not, it looks like both may be charged with racketeering

Wouldn't that be something.

Did trump use a TelePrompTer ?

I don't know about tonight. The speech almost sounded prepared, like a general election candidate. I mean, it likely was "prepared" but it was very un-Trump other than putting Hillary on blast. But no crooked Hillary came out that I heard. Typical Trump at tugging at the emotions of the base, but not in a hateful or negative way.

All in all, it was a good speech.

Ok. I was told he must have used a TelePrompTer. Also told the GOP must have got in his ass to straighten up. I took it as he did well and they couldn't find any fault in anything he said.
