I know that..follow me here..The WW were created before the Wall and the Nights watch. They were the reason the Wall and the Nights watch were formed in the first place. The Nights King that Old Nan was telling the story of, was the 13th Lord Commander of the Nights Watch and very likely was a Stark..so..That Nights King and the WW Ruler who is being called the Night King are two different entities imo. But who knows really? We will see I guess.

This makes the most sense to me. Thanks for (maybe) clarifying.

yeah, man. I saw those 2 images together and thought of the joke immediately, but tinkered with the wording for a day until I knew millennials would like it, LOL

How many seasons are left?

At this pace, I can see them wrapping up the storyline by the end of next season.

Ramsay should be nice and flayed by the end of the season and the Lannister/Tyrell/High Sparrow storyline should be resolved as well.

All that will be left is dealing with the WWs, right?

Theres still a ton of content left. We haven't even gotten to the So called return of Prince Aegon Targaryen (son of Rhaegar) with 10,000 men of the Gold Company (an army of Mercenaries." There are 2 more books left. "Winds of Winter and "A Dream of Spring" That's at least 4 more seasons.

I thought Aegon was written out when Varys and Illyrio were supporting Dany instead. No?

There's Dany's whole storyline.

Arya's.

The Greyjoys.

Bran's.

There's still a lot of story left.

It seems as if Illyrio isn't placing all his bets on Dany.
He and the exiled Lord Jon Connington are plotting to have a boy they call "Young Griff" whom they claim is Aegon Targaryen marry Dany. But I think that when they realize that Dany is staying in Meeran to learn to govern they go with plan B and swear allegiance to Aegon.

When Winds of Winter comes out it should help clarify this.

Same here. They already ran through much of Jon connington's story through jorah mormont. I'm guessing we won't see him or young Aegon. Unless they're going to pop him out on their own break from the story.

I still have hope to see Varys' scene that closed out "A Dance with Dragons".

Victarion looks to be eliminated as well. I'm guessing Euron will be picking up his part.

I'm guessing the dorne story, at least what's happened in the books so far, is scrubbed too. Maybe they'll skip ahead cause I'm sure Martin has told them where the story goes.

In the books, yes, but in the series I don't recall even a hint that Aegon is alive. Did I miss it, or is it a situation where casting gave it away?

If Aegon does show up at all it will be at the end of season 6. Season 6 starts at the end of "A Feast for Crows and the beginning of "A Dance with Dragons" I think Aegon doesn't Show up until the end of the book.

Tyrion called out Aegon and Jon Connington well before the halfway point of A Dance With Dragons I believe. 2-300 pages in roughly.

I've about given up trying to figure out how they'll model the show. The first 4 seasons were easy enough. Season 1=Game of Thrones. Season 2 = A Clash of Kings the most part. Seasons 3 and 4 = A Storm of Swords for the most part.

But then season 5 tries to combine most of A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons. They skipped so much. I actually didn't like season 5 till around episode 5 or 6.
If they do include young Aegon maybe they'll pick up the Aegon storyline out of Griffin's roost after he gave up on marrying Dany and sailed to Westeros with the Golden Company. Part of me thinks that will be left out though. Young Aegon became a big part of the story in a Dance with Dragons. The final chapter of Varys killing Kevan Lannister was all towards the goal of seating young Aegon on the throne. I know they can't fit everything. They cut much of the Dorne story and I think from preview chapters officially released from Winds of Winter, Doran Martell, who's already dead in the show, is interested in finding out more on young Aegon.

I doubt he shows up at all in the show. They gave Jon Conningtons greyscale to Jorah, and Arianne Martel doesn't exist even though she is the likely bride of Aegon in the book. Also, the epilogue to Dance with Dragons has Varys still in Kings Landing secretly assassinating people on the Red Keep to destabilize for Aegons invasion. I highly doubt that subplot happens in the show, but that gives more reason to read the books still.

Yea, I'm definitely fired up for the next book. I had a hard time believing Cersei would be so open to the idea of the Tyrell army marching into King's Landing seeing as she's been battling with them all throughout the entire series. I wouldn't be surprised if she came to that decision eventually in the book but I bet there's a lot more story that goes into it than just an argument with Kevan Lannister and Olenna Tyrell.

Was there anything official about who the guy is that killed Pate at the start of A Feast for Crows? I've read fan speculation on who it is, and it's plausible I guess, but when that wasn't addressed in A Dance with Dragons I thought I missed something. Probably the beginning of a pivotal plotline in the next book.
