I really wish we could stop with the dabbing that is played out big time. This is coming from a 27 year old. I can't imagine how you old farts feel about it.

How did it even start? For the longest time, I had no idea what this "dab" they were referring to even is

No clue. My wife is a teacher and I see these little middle school kids doing it all the time and honestly they look stupid lol it's like a twitch. I'm not sure if it was in a song or what but it needs to stop.

Cam is from Atl and it originated there. A popular hiphop dancer/rapper name PeeWee Long gets most of the credit. It became popular with the dope boys and OGs in the Atl club scene.

The Migos and Rich the Kid both had popular songs about "Dabbin".

If I remember correctly it was when Cam Newton wouldn't stop dancing the dab after he scored a TD against the Titans.

I like old people. Always have hard candy, change for a five and like me you like to eat dinner at like 4:30.

Ha. You are soooo wrong. I ran out of hard candy last week and my wife doesn't allow me to have cash anymore, because you young'uns kept stealing it. So, you have no clue what you are talking about.

Ok...I do like my 4:30 dinner time. Got to eat early enough for my food to start digesting before my 8:00 bedtime.

Best answer yet. Little known fact, Dan Gable stole the 'Gable grip' off of AC Slater. He was a huge fan of the show.
[NB: Congratulations! You get today’s “Delusional Award”…][/QUOTE]

Or you suck at sarcasm. I'm guessing you wear 'Affliction' shirts too.

Alright, guys, I might as well waste my 1,000th post on something trivial but here goes. If you want to see a "REAL WRESTLER," take a look at my avatar. Now that guy is the real deal. Bonus points for anyone who can name who he is (no, it's not me; I'm a lot meaner and stronger than that guy...). :)

Dan Gable and Wade Schalles are my wrestling heroes. Most people don't know who Wade is though.

The pinning machine

The cool thing is I actually know Wade personally. I went to his camp once in VA and he hosted a camp at my HS. He's stayed very close to my HS coach Lauderdale who is massively involved with the SE region of AAU wrestling. Goofy dude, hell of a teacher too.

Also:

The name Wade Schalles is tied to the sport of amateur wrestling in so many ways that there’s few individuals, if any, who’s total body of work is more impressive.

During his career Mr. Schalles became the first Pennsylvanian to be inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame; was selected as “Athlete of the Year”; “Coach of the Year”; “Man of the Year” and “Sportswriter of the Year.” He’s also in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most pins and when he refereed he was one of the highest rated wrestling officials in America.

Sports Illustrated said he was “the most exciting wrestler to ever walk onto a wrestling mat.” Amateur Wrestling News selected him as the best American middleweight of the 20th Century. Dan Gable called him, “the greatest pinner he’s ever seen!”

Voted “World’s Greatest Wrestler” by coaches from around the globe for pinning all of his opponents at the Collegiate World Championships, Mr. Schalles is the National Record Holder for defeating the most NCAA Champions and pinning the most NCAA Champions. On the international level he holds the World Records for defeating the most World Champions and pinning the most World Champions.

Collegiately Mr. Schalles is the only NCAA Division I wrestler to pin over 100 opponents, a record that he’s held for over 5 decades. For his skill at putting people on their backs, WIN Magazine, and the National Wrestling Coaches Association, annually present the Schalles Award to the nation’s top scholastic and collegiate pinners.

Overall, Mr. Schalles has won 15 national championships and been an All-American in five different combative disciplines: Judo, Sombo, Freestyle, Folkstyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. He’s authored two bestselling books on the sport and his instructional video tape series on wrestling are best sellers.

Currently he’s is one of the country’s most popular columnists and “creative” is probably the best way to describe his writing style as well as the way he views the sport.

Thought of as the Father of Funk Wrestling, he continues to this day to make immeasurable contributions to the sport he loves.
