If you read any of the boards that are dedicated to the show, many people expect some flashback scenes in Dorne based on a scene in the Season 6 trailer.

True but I would love another series in this world. They don't have to do it spin-off style with cheesy cameos and whatnot, but this world is huge and full of great fictional history.

A series that takes place during the Targaryean reign or maybe even a story about the first men would be great.

I can see a prequel, but I doubt they will do that.

I agree. There's room for a spin off or companion series for sure.

I would love a show based on the Dance of the Dragons in Westeros' history. The cgi for all those dragons would probably be too expensive even for HBO

There is such an enormous backstory to work with though;the whole rise and fall of Valyria or even just going back to the Targaryens post Doom up to Robert taking the throne. There's just SOOO much room to work with names and places people already know and love.
