Lady Vols Recruiting Info

I totally forgot about the in conference transfer rules. It's possible, she'll just have to sit two years instead of one...which won't happen.

The in-conference rule can be waived by the coach. Like when Pat allowed Teresa "Tree" Geter to transfer to South Carolina from the Lady Vols because she was homesick.

I, too, would like to see Jatarie White in orange.

Jim

Kaydra Duckett and Jatarie White are transferring from South Carolina. White was a McDonald's All American in 2014. I would like to see Jatarie White come to Tennessee

She should've chose us in the first place! She wanted to play with her friend (Wilson) instead of realizing she had a better chance to play with us

Let's remember lianna harper went to Kentucky and could have came to tn ..so it all depends on the transfer rule...dawn staley puts on her

Knowing Dawn Staley and her arrogance she knows her team would be better next year and wouldn't care if White stayed in the conference (especially with us) because she knows Holly can't out coach her and will find a way to mess things up

Harper originally went to KY and she transferred to Ohio State earlier this year, she has no connection to South Carolina. Dawn is a completely different coach than Mitchell. She blocked Kelsey Bone from SEC schools years ago, only to have to face her when Texas AM joined the AEC, Karma is a *****!

Kelsey Bone herself denied this accusation a LONG time ago. Bone has nothing put good things to say about SC, she even recommended Kaela Davis to transfer there...

Ladazhia Williams chose Baylor already, so clearly, they don't update often

Williams hasn't committed anywhere yet.

And considering the post depth Baylor has, it would be unwise to go there. Not even sure why Baylor would be on her list.

Why? If you are suggesting that she is afraid to compete with players on her own team for playing time, how is she going to compete against the best WCBB has to offer in games? Wouldn't you prefer to recruit a young lady who has the confidence in her own skills to play against anyone (friend or foe)? The best players are the ones who will take on any challenge. They are willing to work hard and improve so they can take minutes away from those ahead of them on the depth chart, not get playing time by default because everyone else on the team stinks.

Holly had a home visit with Sidney Cooks last night.

She is a 6'4" P from Kenosha, WI.

Likely to have home visits with KK/Dodson/Coombs in Georgia soon as well.

Because Williams has already said she's most interested in opportunities with the most amounts of playing time early in her career. Passing up teams with better chances to get on the floor early to go to a school like Baylor with 5-6 posts players with 3 or 4 of them being elite would lessen those chances. You don't think so?

And it's not like the players before her are minced meat... she'll be competing for it with Beatrice Mompremier, Kalani Brown and Lauren Cox, all players that are 1 or 2 years ahead of her. I'm not even considering the senior post players Baylor will have.

So sure, from a competitive standpoint.. you want a player that's willing to go in and compete against the best but if Williams' true intentions are to go to a school where she'll get a lot of playing time as a freshmen then there will probably be better choices than Baylor.. In the end, it's her choice though, she'll go where she's most comfortable.

Looks like Holly is getting around! out to Oregon.... now Wisconsin....then to Georgia?

Cook list Florida and Maryland and others....Would she come to Tennessee? does not hurt to ask!:)

KK and Dodson have been mentioned with South Carolina on the internet! Plus their drive is an hour closer than coming to Tennessee... Family could go to SC VS UT easier!!! Just saying!

hoop girls list her as a 6'2" forward. (Williams) Why would she be banging with Mompremier and Brown? I know that a rebound is a rebound..... but offense positioning would not be the same??

CockyTalk is the only place I have seen South Carolina being in with KK or Dodson.

With both Oregon State and Washington in the Final Four this year, don't you think it will be harder to get those young ladies from Oregon to come East? They can play for successful teams at home where friends and families can watch them.

I think you better put your money on the Oregon Connection! I don't see how Middleton's plight would help draw any local player to Knoxville.

I cannot name the article! Just remember reading about South Carolina's interest. I have followed your post about recruits and will yield to your knowledge. I have noticed that the 2016 year girls had a tendency to stay close to home and every time I see a recruit mentioned..... I check Map Quest for distance of travel vs teams of interested as listed by the recruit!

I hope that they both come........ I wish someone of respect in the basketball recruitment would give us a verbal so all of the negativity would subside:)

True, Brown is more of a center.. but Mompremier is versatile and has size. Mompremier can play inside and hit midrange. Lauren Cox would be Williams direct competition at the 4-spot, except Cox is a much better offensive player at this point.

Most of Baylor's post players are long and lanky with athleticism, they can play the 4/5... a few can even stretch beyond the perimeter (Cox/Cohen). There's lots of versatility and Mulkey moves her players around to show that.
