Humphrey and Fitzpatrick are pretty good, and they were just freshman last year.

Humphrey is very much improved but Fitzpatrick is mostly good in the short area. Haven't seen him make a lot of plays where he turns and runs with WRs. Saban usually gives his CBs a lot of help. They never learn to play without the safety helping them.

Since there is a lot of chatter about in state guys that may be about to hop on board, I was looking at the talent in the state this year. The top 12 in state are 4 stars. How many do you think we need to lock up or how many would it take for y'all to be happy? Two are already committed to Clemson

Clemson is starting to piss me off.

I have no idea what any of this means. No self respecting, red blooded American should.

Then why would you have an opinion on what it means?

It's awesome is what it means. I know some of you don't like soccer but don't be a jerk about it. I became a fan back in 2003 when I went to London. Arsenal and Chelsea played a huge game the first night I arrived. There were 20,000+ chanting outside my hotel room in Kensington. It was amazing. I watched the game at a pub and was blown away by the passion.

Only thing that compares is college football. Many euro soccer fans enjoy college football for the same reason. Passion, pageantry, chants, colors, tailgating. It's all the best of sports. You can have an opinion but try to eliminate the arrogance and smugness.

Please don't take offense because I mean none but I can't get into any game where many games are like 2-3 or 0-0 and are decided on penalty kicks. I've tried but have zero interest in soccer. Baseball and hockey also fall into this territory as well. Flame away.

That is not an offensive statement and I can respectfully disagree but see your point. I can't watch golf but won't get bothered by those that do.

It's not for everyone. I'll never understand why some people get their panties in a wad because someone likes a different sport than they do. (Not speaking to you)

FWIW regular season baseball is something I just can't get into either. Hockey I can only do in person. I'm with you there. :)

Here are the 10 reasons the Volunteers should be considered among the few teams that could actually win the CFP next season.

-Dobbs is dominant in the SEC
-Thunder + lightning + Dobbs = good backfield
-College football's most experienced receivers?
-Young-ish line is very good
-Historic special teams
-Bob Shoop is a terrific hire
-Aggressive, ball-hawking secondary
-Good luck getting past those Tennessee linebackers
-Good luck dealing with those Tennessee pass-rushers
-UT faces an increasingly rare easy SEC schedule

The bottom line

Tennessee's four losses last season occurred by a total of only 17 points and included contests against the eventual national champion (Alabama), a College Football Playoff team (Oklahoma) and the SEC East division champion (Florida). With the caliber of talent this year's club is returning, the Volunteers ought to be able to close the point gap against elite teams and make a run at their first national championship since 1998.
