Once again, posters with reading comprehension issues make a disparaging, general remark that has no foundation in fact. Weaker than weak, but not surprising.

Oh, it definitely has foundation in fact. Maybe not for him, but for a lot of people. It's like when people think NASCAR is "just a bunch of people turning left"... Like, okay yeah...it is...but there's way more to it than that. People say baseball is just a bunch if dudes standing around a lot which, yeah it is, but there's a lot more minutia than that. It's just a matter of oversimplification.

Baseball certainly needs to speed it up. The pitcher is usually the issue. That, and the management of pitchers late in the game.

A clock for pitchers along with substitution changes late in game could make every baseball game 2 hours and a ton more enjoyable.

If we are talking about the end of a game, basketball has BY FAR the worst 2 minute clock managing IMO...but it also has the best final seconds.

I think you're looking into it too much. Some people just don't enjoy watching baseball.

It was my favorite sport growing up (and still my favorite professional sport to watch in love person) but I rarely ever find watching a game on tv to be entertaining.

It doesn't mean I don't understand the sport. I just don't like watching it on tv. I can only imagine how it is for someone who doesn't care much for baseball to begin with.

Football and basketball are games that I sit down to watch for a few hours. Baseball I like as background noise while I'm doing something else... But I struggle to watch it the same way, intent on every play. I actually have as much fun watching baseball statistically over the course of a season as I do watching it live.

I always defend baseball on here, I've done it before because frankly, baseball gets the most hate. Hell, the most annoying thing for me in the last month is that UT refuses to stream any of the baseball games. I love it, I've loved it since I was 5 and played it until I couldn't and now I watch it every night I can. I get that some people like don't like it...but I'm always going to defend it and it does get under my skin when people disparage it just because they oversimplify it. Not that that is what Nick was doing. I was just being a sarcastic ass, as per my usual.

Nascar is in its own category of boring. Biggest difference with baseball is that I REALLY enjoy going to games (especially St. Louis), whereas Nascar is the noisy equivalent of a 4 hour dental visit.

Seriously, if I wanted to watch 4 hours of people turning left, I'll go to the square in Lebanon or Murfreesboro.

Every sport is not for everyone. I personally think baseball is boring. But if baseball makes you sit on the edge of your seat for 3-4 hours, who am I to criticize? I personally can't get into soccer and percentage wise the ball is in play far more than about any sport. I think it comes down to scoring. I can't get into any sport where the final score is 3-2. Same way with hockey.

That's the same as a 21-14 football game.

Lol, fair enough.

Sport enjoyment is completely individualistic, which is why there is no right or wrong when discussing... Just preference.

Except Bama fans... They are just wrong

Maybe I'm weird, but I really enjoy all sports even if I'm not the biggest fan. I don't watch all of them with religious fury like I do football, but I keep up with most. Must see non-football sporting events:

Daytona
Masters
French Open
US Open (golf)
NBA Playoffs
Wimbledon
British Open
PGA Championship
MLB Playoffs
Olympic hockey
World Cup soccer
Olympic curling

This.

Add in the Jamaican bobsled team for the Winter Olympics, mon. Bristol has to be on there for NASCAR.

The commissioner removed the ban due to this post. Still on probation, though.

I love to watch all of the major sports in person but if I had to rank it I'd go
NBA, mlb, nfl
Watching at home on tv
Nfl, NBA, mlb
I would rather watch the vols in person than on tv because neyland stadium is the s#|+

I'm just saying I don't think that is what makes it boring. In a 4 hour football game, the ball is in play for 15 minutes. I would guess that baseball has a better ratio.

Baseball is better in person than on TV. you can see what everyone is doing in person. Positioning and holding and deaking runners ect. The hit and run plays and stealing bases Things you can't see on TV. If you are really into it then you can follow what pitches may come to set up a batter and stuff. This inside part of baseball is what the novice fan doesn't understand and does show a true lack of understanding. See NICK, it is like someone reading the words of the BIBLE but not studying it. Original Greek and all that jazz.

I understand all of it. It still just bores me to watch. It wasn't like that til my mid twenties. I actually prefer watching women's softball over baseball now.

College Football
NFL

Baseball

NBA
Hockey
PGA

Racing
Fishing

College Basketball

I'd put hockey over baseball personally, but otherwise I agree.

The obscene amount of foul calls in college basketball (at least in the sec, which is all I watch) has ruined it. In our last game there were almost 50 fouls called. That's insanity. There's 0 rhythm or flow when the game is stopped that often.
