I also have a 9mm and a .40 cal, and I keep the Judge by the bed. I trust it totally, after shooting many rounds through it, and seeing what it will do when loaded with the right ammo.

I have one of those as the first round out, followed by Federal buckshot, and .45 Long Colts. Those PDX rounds don't penetrate as far as the Federal buckshot loads, but there is a heck of a chance of a hit with the spread.

I have tested several different types of ammo for pattern and penetration. I know what most everything will do .

So what is your thinking with the mixed rounds in the cylinder? Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

I think I'll stick with the 12 gauge I have under the bed. If I miss I deserve what I get.

I don't care whether or not you think that the gun is a joke, but I can assure you that I have tested enough ammo to feel confident that it will stop an intruder. The problem comes if you try to shoot somebody at 15 feet with bird shot. That will only make them mad, unless you put their eyes out and they can't see you.

Load it heavy, and it is a good defensive weapon. Of course , I can see 15 rounds of 9 mm being a better alternative if there are several intruders. I also have that close by, just in case.

Seems your last paragraph summed it up pretty good. I don't like fair fights. I want every advantage I can get. The 15 rounds of 9mm are gonna be a better option.

The thinking is that the PDX round with discs and BB's gives me an excellent chance for a hit with the first round, and if it doesn't stop the person, then the 410 buckshot will, as it puts out 4 .36 caliber balls.

That gives a pretty chance for a hit and a stop. I don't consider the 1st round a waste, because it would very likely stop a person, if it hits them in the right place. The .45's are for a longer distance if needed. That is my theory. Others load differently. I have never had a misfire with any rounds. I don't worry about a jam, or having to clear a round.

Might very well be, but I always worry about a jam with a pistol. Odds are that they won't, but I feel more confident with a revolver . Your mileage may vary.

My adrenaline will be pumping so hard that I think that a precision shot is out of the question. I am thinking pray and spray. The 15 rounds of 9 mm would be the same.

The funny thing about fights is they never really go as planned. Or, as a much better man than me said, you can plan to do this, or that, it all changes when you get punched in the mouth. Now what?

Very well. If you like the judge, that's all that really matters. I'd keep that 9mm close by though, just in case lol

So again, how many of those employees have ever pro fired with that pistol?

And even you, manliest of men, have to admit a .410 or a .45 LC would take some getting used to. Especially with a female. :)

In close quarters, you would have to be a horrible shot to miss.

If by some extremely rare chance I miss, as I am closing the distance between myself and the home invader, my K-BAR would finish the job. Always got to have the backup.

You'll never even need to consider your scenario if you just put one of these up. This country doesn't need people defending themselves and their loved ones, we just need more of these signs.
