"As we alluded to in the War Room, Tennessee per multiple sources will move Dave Lawson away from a primary day to day role of strength and conditioning for football while elevating the role of Mike Szerjszen, who as we noted has handled the past two full weeks of the Vols' offseason football conditioning program.

Officially, Tennessee spokesperson Ryan Robinson said that Lawson's status as the director of strength and condition for all athletic programs has not changed.

Lawson is under an amended contract that went into effect July 1, 2015, and which runs through Feb. 28, 2017. Lawson's last reported salary from UT, per documents obtained via an Freedom of Information Act request, was a base salary of $200,000 plus applicable bonuses. Lawson also receives $5,000 in camp compensation and a $600/month auto stipend."

So what happened here?

Best case scenario: Butch is actually standing by what he's claimed in the past about constantly evaluating all members of his staff and is making a transition somewhere he thinks an improvement can be made.

Worst case: Something embarrassing related to the lawsuit.

Most likely: Let's wait and have Bruin tell us :eek:lol:

For those concerned about the depth at DT, remember that DMix was at tackle just a year ago. The boy lost 20 lbs to move to end. I have found it is very easy to gain weight fast on Skippy Natural with honey, so I'm sure Butch's nut butter can have him back up to DT size before you know it.

I see us using a Malik Jackson-sized player at tackle a lot this year either with DMix or Phillips.

Any word as to why?

TIFWIW, but I have it from a solid source (my second-cousin's chiropractor once had a beer with Lawson's brother in law) that Lawson was there when the Bowles/Maggit incident occurred. Maggit told Bowles how pissed he was and Lawson yelled out "Betcha won't hit him, ya big sissy!"

Fortenberry said both Mosley and Mixon are options at DT this fall if Tuttle/Johnson aren't available.

"What if he was tea bagging players wile they were trying to bench press personal best weight? If Butch doesn't do something more severe it will be bad for the program. All our current players will join the Title IX lawsuit."

Excellent news on lawson.

Way too many injuries of a freakish nature for the S&C program not to come under a microscope.

Do we need a I told you so bump or two to remind this board how many of you mocked a certain poster for saying that was needed?

You're assuming that was the reason.

You may want to go see an orthopod… I think you might have dislocated your shoulder while patting yourself on the back.

Breathe easy there scooter. Its in jest and wasn't made by me.

It was a screen shot from a notepad document. Nobody cares who made it as it's not exactly a unique work of art. Sharing it (in jest or not) was in poor taste IMO.

I'm not even sure what you're going for there. Are you making fun of cops? Or making light of people getting shot by cops? Either way....

It's been pretty boring in here the last few days. I think I'm going to head over to the football forum for a bit. Catch you all on the flip side.
