"As we alluded to in the War Room, Tennessee per multiple sources will move Dave Lawson away from a primary day to day role of strength and conditioning for football while elevating the role of Mike Szerjszen, who as we noted has handled the past two full weeks of the Vols' offseason football conditioning program.
Officially, Tennessee spokesperson Ryan Robinson said that Lawson's status as the director of strength and condition for all athletic programs has not changed.
Lawson is under an amended contract that went into effect July 1, 2015, and which runs through Feb. 28, 2017. Lawson's last reported salary from UT, per documents obtained via an Freedom of Information Act request, was a base salary of $200,000 plus applicable bonuses. Lawson also receives $5,000 in camp compensation and a $600/month auto stipend."
