CIS studies all immigration. Yet they've never written a single piece about the positives of immigration. I'm not changing the topic. I'll telling you your source is ****

Straight off the CIS website...
Immigration increases the overall size of the U.S. economy. Of this there is no question. In 2009 immigrants accounted for 15 percent of all workers. More workers and more people mean a bigger GDP. Immigrants are 15 percent of U.S. workers. They likely account for about 10 percent of GDP or more than a trillion dollars annually.

Immigration and the U.S. Economy | Center for Immigration Studies

They are not saying immigrants do not provide any benefits to the U.S., but they have questioned what those net benefits are, which would be a proper analysis. And yes I've read some of the liberal views on the CIS studies and none have refuted their data, they have simply disagreed on how some things are measured.

Here's an example for you...

If two illegals have a child in the U.S. then that child is considered a natural born citizen. As a natural born citizen that child is now entitled to various government benefits (including SNAP). Do you agree or disagree that the two parents (who are illegal immigrants) are benefiting from the SNAP program or not? If you somehow claim NO, then again I would sincerely question your ability to apply reason. If you admit that YES they also benefit, then you've proven your previous argument wrong that illegal immigrants do not benefit from government programs like SNAP.

Lol in over a decade of research you can't find one positive article from them about immigration?

Lol... I'll tell you what. Find me an article where Einstein claims the laws of gravity don't exist and we'll call it even, because that is logically what you are asking.

The CIS has studies that show illegal immigration costs our government (our tax payers) money, and yet you expect them to publish articles on the benefits of illegal immigration??? As I said before, your inability to apply reason is unbelievable.

So rather than admitting you were wrong (and oh so wrong) with your initial claim, now you'd prefer to just dodge and divert.

I'm curious as to what government benefits you believe they receive?

So the answer is: they're not receiving benefits.

Thanks

They're not receiving free health care or food stamps

None of you have shown that outside of free education and hospital services, that they receive anything

Back to the 2016 election subject for a moment...

Bill Clinton spars with Benghazi protesters in Bluffton | The State

Former President Bill Clinton likely didn’t plan to spend more than a quarter of his speech in Bluffton Friday talking about Benghazi and partisan squabbling.

A man with close-cropped hair and dressed in a crisp suit interrupted the 42nd president’s speech, demanding Clinton address the 2012 attack on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya.

“Your wife tried to cover it up,” the man, who would identify himself only as “the Marine sergeant,” said of the of the attack in which four Americans were killed.

The protester and his comments immediately drew boos from many in the crowd of around 500 packed into the Bluffton Recreation Center.

So you admit your source is biased?

And no. I'm not wrong. Illegals are not receiving food stamps. A child born here is a citizen. That child receiving food stamps is different than their parents receiving them.

I've been listening to the last debate and I must say, although it hurts me, trump made a lot of sense on healthcare

As biased as this guy was about his views on gravity.

So you intentionally posted something that contradicted your argument? Odd...

Most people, when hit with an unexpected question will blurt out the truth.

If you believe the 11 million number then you believe the number of new illegals match the number of illegals returning home. You also believe illegals will come out of the shadows and honestly fill out census forms.

Can I prove it? No. On the other hand no one can prove the 11 million number either.

WTF?

Other than "no State lines" what else did he say?

No state lines is a great thing. And it would increase competition. He also said he wanted to eliminate the mandate but still require them to give to quotes to those with preexisting conditions

As far as taxation is concerned, they do not pay property taxes. They get no credit for it, nor can they deduct any of their rent payments as mortgage interest. If it makes you and huff feel good to give renters credit for paying property taxes, have at it. It is a silly academic stance that has no application in the real world. :eek:k:

Please do not put me in a position of having to defend that idiot.

I never said that buying across State lines wouldn't be great and it's something I've supported for a long time. (though it doesn't affect me)

But when pressed, other than the lines and the preexisting conditions, he fell flat on his face when challenged about his plan.

Idk what else would be needed. Beyond that, keep government out of it.

Since I am a landlord, I have had this same argument with Huff before. I have tried to stay silent the last couple of times this came up. My guess is if there were no property taxes, that the rent would still be the same, since the price of rent is determined by supply and demand, more than overall cost of the rental property to the landlord. I think that their argument is more of a paper argument than real world.

Does it factor into the price of rental property? Maybe a little, but far less than they think I believe. I have never raised or lowered rent based on changes in property taxes, and I have been through a few.

I assume you do a proforma on each potential income property. Would you buy a property that wouldn't allow you to cover out of pocket costs? In my area of Texas property taxes on a mid range single home property can easily be $4,000 - $5,000 a year.

I agree that after the purchase any change in rent is totally based on supply and demand.

He doesn't even consider medical services health care.....his argument is "they receive no benefits"..... "Except that"....."and that"..... " but your numbers are **** because they never contradict"......"your source is ****"
He's yet to counter with anything of substance.

Did you seriously just post this? Lol..... So you don't see how the parents benefit from this situation?

You really don't think illegals are receiving food stamps? I guess you also think that ONLY those that truly qualify for food stamps are receiving food stamps. ..... You couldn't crack an egg on Easter Sunday

So why do you guys think that the GOP establishment are dead set against Trump? They think he can't beat Hillary or they can't control him like Rubio?

Idk what else would be needed. Beyond that, keep government out of it.

Funny thing about that...he says repeal and replace Obamacare. Yet his website doesn't say anything about health care at all. But in every interview and debate he says "replace it with something wonderful." Yet zero details save the buying across State lines and making sure preexisting conditions are covered and that happened at the last debate. So what could I deduce?

He has no plan. But it's going to be terrific. Just like everything else he likes to ramble on about that attracts the mouth breathers in droves to vote for him.

And what's even more funny? Neither he nor Ted Cruz have anything regarding an alternative to Obamacare on their websites. You'd think a hot button issue they like to talk about at debates and speeches would have some sort of reference on their website. But neither one do.

It is easily about control. And while he is having a more immediate impact on the GOP, if he wins the general it will be a major hit to the current power held by both major parties. He's a tear down candidate where it concerns the current duopoly (knowingly or not).

Dang CP. You explained it much better than he did. And now I fully understand his position...

Yep... still wrong. :)
