I actually like Bruin. He is a good poster and brings some good discussion to the board. No doubt he is a passionate vol fan and believes the things he says. You can't fake that.

He just gets on a roll over some nonsensical conjecture and becomes unbearable for a while. I know. I can be the same way.

Bruin needs to just realize when he's going on a tangent sometimes and self regulate. Almost like he needs a code word to hear to let him know when he's off the chain.

I vote a VFL standard...

In all honesty, if someone can make you that upset on a silly football forum maybe you shouldn't be here in the first place lol

Wonder if they could turn Marshall into a WR... Take a few less hits and use that breakaway speed more. I don't think he's a between-the-tackles RB despite his weight.

Tranquilizer gun would help sometimes.

Boom let's do it.

As for nashvegas post.

Montana just got sued for kicking their QB off and he was innocent.

I posted something to that effect when everyone wanted Johnson booted no questions asked. Everyone deserves due diligence. The lynch mob was rough that first day with him

Accdg to a tweet, Fort told midday that TN actually could be opening itself up to lawsuits for acting too harshly to allegations such as the Von Pearson case. Sooo wouldn't that be a heck of a headline if that were to happen. What the heck would media do? Start blaming us for treating our athletes too harshly in these cases lol

He referenced the Montana player who won 250k+ against the university. There are apparently two Texas players in an active suit against the university for something similar.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I didn't take to mean he's heard vibes from Alexis' or Von's side though. Don't worry too much about it. Just conjecture.

Happening here at University of Dayton as well.

Lol! Wow!

Reporter: Hey Coach Jones, how do you deal with having a lawsuit saying you are creating a hostile sexual environment and another one saying that you are treating your athletes too harshly based on allegations only?

Butch: Now, we know why our country is so messed up. To answer your question...yes (drops mic)

This is all about $$$. Clay Travis had a really great explanation for us non lawyers about criminal vs civil yesterday. He said criminal has to have 99.8% no reasonable doubt. Civil is more like 51%. You only have to prove that something could have possibly happened and not that it actually did happen.Im sure that is why most people settle. He said plaintiffs lawyers in civil suits are only after $$$. They only get paid if it settles or they win case. So they throw as much crap at the wall to scare the other side into settling.

It has to be about money. All of the plaintiffs were brought together for that sole reason. The lawyer is the common denominator. They don't know each other. They definitely did not get together and decide to find a lawyer to take this case for them. The lawyer found them and he and his team are scouring for more plaintiffs. The more people that they can get to sign on, the better it is because it puts more pressure on the university to settle. This case is an investment for the lawyer and his firm. There may be some minor altruism involved, but even that is doubtful. This case is all about the lawyer getting his money and could be about the disgruntled former employees hoping to stick to Hart and company. I am not trying to belittle what allegedly happened to these ladies. My guess is that some of them, at least, were assaulted. But, I don't know and the fact, as others have stated, that there has yet to be a conviction for any of these does not mean it's a cover up. It more likely means that these cases are difficult to prosecute because there is some doubt to what actually happened.

I don't mind when people complain about Bruin. It bugs me when people complain about people complaining about Bruin. If it bugs them that much, why not just scroll past......wait....never mind.

No doubt that there is a fine line. I have cited the Dez Wells case before. Wells was a basketball player at Xavier and was accused of sexual assault. Xavier dismissed him. The local DA investigated, reviewed evidence, and found nothing. He was so emphatic about the lack of evidence that the DA publicly stated that Xavier was absolutely wrong about them dismissing him. Wells transferred the Maryland, and the NCAA cleared him to play immediately.

The difference is that Xavier felt like Wells violated their code of conduct even though he wasn't charged. A violation of the code of conduct does not carry a burden of beyond a reasonable doubt, and it is a privilege to be a student. It is very unfortunate, and there is no doubt that schools are in tough positions. That makes this case against UT very frustrating. Plaintiffs can't have it both ways.

Posted this elsewhere, but thought with the discussion here, it's relevant. It's a couple posts by a Vandy poster on their website.

I do not have access to sealed documents. I do have a first hand account of of how everything played out,and this will never make it to court. The plaintiffs lawyers don't want it, nor do the plaintiffs. UT's council is chomping at the bit for this to go to court.

I don't the plaintiff's lawyers are worried about perjury, and may be condoning it. Time will tell folks, just be patient.

Piss on their smear campaign. And our West End brethren are very interested in how this turns out I'm sure. The pucker factor over there is very high.
