CBJ allegedly tells Drae Bowles he 'betrayed the team'

Serious question,
Why is it so important to the 2 of you that you convince everyone else UT is guilty and horrible?

I watch stuff like this happen at every school and I read the message boards and it's no different then this one.

It may be true that all of these people have no legitimate gripe and if that's the case I guess UT will fight it.

My own personal belief is that some of the folks involved on the UT side of things have not made good decisions in the way they handle these kinds of issues and I base that on a lot of different things. To clarify, I'm not talking about coaches or the AD.

Not just our backs, I fear we may be the last barrier standing before similar instances happen across the nation. I kinda find it odd that FSU pays the woman that accused Winston of rape(I tend to believe her) and then our situation arose. imo if we settle then Oklahoma is next on the chopping block due to the mixon case and the frat thing that happened and after that its gonna really gonna kick off.
Exactly. All of this was timed and orchestrated by lawyers. They knew that during the offseason, and right after superbowl, they would get most publicity.

This can't be true bc if Curt actually punched Drae "with force", Bowles would've needed reconstructive surgery.

I thought the same thing. If he landed a hard lunch with force, Bowles would have had way more than a busted lip.

He called him a traitor.....so what? A.J. has not been found guilty of anything at this point. So at this point he did betray the team. If A.J. is found guilty then Butch will just have to admit he was wrong.

1) Butch has not admitted to calling him a traitor.
2) ...but if he did, that quote has not been given context as of yet. Even the Tennessean did not say that Butch called him a traitor specifically because he assisted a sexual assault victim - only that he had called him a traitor and then later apologized for it.
3) Basilio (I know, I know) has asserted that Jones had shielded Bowles from retribution from angry teammates.

Just thinking about how this may have played out. Not convinced UT is guilty, but I am pretty convinced of some horrible behaviors and lack of consequences.

Do you think the girl was not even assaulted?

It's possible. The point is that it everything is predicated on that and it has yet to be proven.

I have no idea.
I just keep seeing 2 posters here repeating a negative outlook in a case that hasn't been settled?

I understand those defending the university while everything is still in question but I really want to know what drives people to smear their university before it's known?

I am sorry for those who were raped (if indeed they were). That would be a horrible situation. And IF there was a cover up by UT that is disgusting. What I dread is if all of this is over (doubtful) by the 2016 football season then ALL we will hear is the announcers replaying it all over again rather than acknowledging our good football team as we pummel every opponent. Guess I will turn off the tv sound and listen on the radio (God I miss John Ward).

That would surprise me a lot. Bowles is a super kid from a good, law-enforcement family.

That makes no sense bc he has already told two contradicting stories

Can your brain not comprehend that my posts is he did not do a bad thing? He did suspend AJ and Bowles did not get beat to the pulp. The things we actually do know is that he is suspending players and letting the police do their jobs. Unlike Florida state and how they handled it. You would rather run with what he was alleged to have said by someone who can gain a lot from it. I know you we a true VOL fan but your approach on this is like a kid whose batting approach will never get him out of rookie ball.

Your post is a bit hard to follow. Suspending them from the team has nothing to do with the lawsuit. With regards to how Jones has handled the athletic side, he's promptly suspended them all from team activities immediately. That's the way it should be.

Did he sit down with an alleged victim and say that the athlete will not be allowed in the "athletic footprint" from this point forward and then that athlete shows up on the field taking photos? Those are minor issues compared to what the administration, particularly this involved with student life, are going to have to answer for.

The media coverage of this has moved from hack job to full on blood frenzy. They're driving an agenda, and a big part of that agenda is selling papers. It's sad they have no interest in the actual facts of the case, rather choosing to focus on baseless allegations where they know that ongoing litigation will not allow a response.

I wonder if any of the thousands of UT students or faculty (or really anyone besides a girlfriend) can corroborate his alleged injury?

Being right doesn't matter.

I will say this, when people are standing in front of law enforcement screaming for justice, the have my full attention
When people become less interested in legal justice and decide a check makes them feel better, I start losing sympathy.

Well... whether this is true or not, it's terrible publicity. I hope the truth comes out and hopefully it's in favor of UT.

If it's not, I expect us to be punished pretty heavily.

If there is one thing I learned about being a TN fan is that we can't have nice things (whether that be our fault or not) :/

Florida State started it and it got very little press coverage (the out of court payment that is)
