In women's basketball, we committed a foul 85 feet from the basket with four seconds on the clock.

I have not blinked since.

Basketball is a 40 minute game, to claim the first 20 minutes had no affect on the outcome is asinine. I expect better from you, Gule.

The game wasn't lost in the last 4 seconds, it was lost in the 1st half when they only scored 18 points.

That's being too nice. That game was realistically lost right then and there. No need to foul being up 1, there wasn't much chance they were going to score in 4 seconds.

me thinks dillyo is being sillyo.

how can a game be lost in the first half when you overcome the deficit in the second half and lead by 1 and have a shooter on the f t line for 2 shots with 4 seconds left in the game.

If you put everyone except the foul shooter on the defensive end of the court, you win that game 19 out of 20. In women's basketball, the chances of them moving the ball that fast and throwing in a 30 foot buzzer beater are less than 5%.

If y'all think this season is bad, just wait. The teams to follow will make this team look like world beaters.

just answer the question, genius. "How can a first half deficit overcome in the second half be the cause of loss"?

How about...if we'd outscored them in the first half, quite possibly we would have had more than a 1 point lead with 4 seconds left, and a cushion even if a stupid foul was committed. Or maybe the cushion would have allowed more subs so the players on the floor weren't so tired at the end. Or maybe the timeouts could have been used differently so we would have had one left at the end. There are lots of reasons why that lousy first half affected the way the second half played out.

That all makes sense to me. And I am NO basketball genius, but it seems to me that it also easier to get ahead, when you are not waaaay behind. If the LVs had had the 12 point lead at the half, I am not sure LSU would have been capable of getting back in the game. So, again just the opinion of simple-minded fan, but it seems that a better approach would be to just crush the weaker opponent from the outset and be done with it. Getting in the hole against a team that is filling out its low talent roster with walk ons is not doing THAT.

So, the LVs handicapped themselves, battle to regaina lead and then completely collapsed down the stretch. And you are right, they should have had a much bigger cushion in the last 2 minutes but they didn't.

You certainly are wrong. It could have been won in the first quarter, but it was LOST in the fourth quarter. How many coaches at any level would not have instructed the girls not to foul. You never assume anything with a team that is so mismanaged.

Ding..ding..ding You have nailed it Jax. Great point.
That's what should've been done. But we don't have a coach that understands this. That alone should convince the Holly supporters that she is CLUELESS!

There was 3.4 seconds on the clock!!! No way could LSU have moved the ball and scored if our defense did their job of slowing down things.:good!:
