So, there will no longer be a need for low skilled workers? If everyone suddenly becomes a rocket scientist, who will clean the rooms in the motels and hospitals? Who lays bricks, who mows yards, etc, etc, etc?

I'm sure bricklayers will be just fine, as there is enough money in real estate, housing, and construction to keep them afloat. As for the other jobs you mention, they will be low wage no matter what. One can still probably make a somewhat decent living in landscaping, especially in certain part of the countries, but how many landscapers do we really need? I'd say most of those jobs are already filled, especially by low wage illegals and immigrants who don't necessarily need a separate apartment and satellite television.

.....and if they weren't here, and there was no unemployment insurance????

But they're here, Trump. What are you going to do about it? Deport them all and waste hundreds of millions, possibly billions, of taxpayer dollars? Going to keep digging in our wallets to solve nothing?

My point is not what to do with them, but the fact that they contribute to the unemployment and wage problem for our citizens. It is called supply and demand.

They add to the supply of labor, and don't do much for the demand, because they live several to a residence, and don't need satellite TV, as someone said.

I think the issue with trump supporters is that we try to debate them using logic and reason. These people respond better to lies and yelling contests. Perhaps then we could make them see the light
What is the "light" in your world?

Disclaimer: not necessarily a Trump supporter unless he gets the nomination.

Was talking with the folks last night about what Trump should do to unite the party should he win the nomination.

1. He should come out and say he will refuse the Presidential salary and should offer to pay the salaries of his Cabinet but I would leave that up to him.

Chump change

2. He needs to make a gesture to Cruz and offer him up as a Supreme Court appointee.

meh... I would wager the "establishment" could come up with someone better for the SCOTUS

3. Offer the Vice President slot to either Kasich or Rubio to get the establishment on-board. Preferably Kasich in my humble opinion. For some reason I like him.

I agree with this

It took South Carolinians 150 years and one of the worst terrorist events in this nation's history to finally realize they lost the Civil War.

I doubt whether we should put too much stock into their voting habits.
Pretty sure they don't give a **** what you think.

That he's not an actual conservative. In most cases has no real plan, just empty rhetoric. And that he seems to have no problem with the idea of abusing executive power. Throw in the fact that tarrif wars never work and you have a very sorry candidate

If your point is not what to do with them, then why in the heck are you making this into a debate?

Nothing we can do about it but adapt.

But being an elitist who relocated to California makes you the final word, huh?

Elitist?

Why am I an elitist? Because I think rationally about things? Is that elitism?

Hell, I'd wager you probably come from a more privileged background than I do and probably currently inhabit a more privileged spot in our society. You went to college in the 1960s/70s. Do you have any idea how rare that is? I'm the first male in my family to ever set foot in an institute of higher learning and that didn't occur to the 2000s.

Don't hear me whining about your elitism though. Just your horrible ideas.

Stop being such a blowhard. If you don't like the criticism, then come up with better ideas.

That Trump is a con man. A snake oil salesman selling his supporters a promise that most people with common sense know can't happen. He's not going to make Mexico build a wall. He's not going to make companies bring their jobs back to the U.S. He's not going to put a 45% tariff on Chinese goods. He's not going to suddenly become Vladimir Putin's friend because Putin doesn't want to be his friend. He can't make countries like Japan and South Korea pay for have U.S. Troops in their countries because we have a mutual defense agreements with them. His tax plan won't work because it adds $18 trillion to the debt. He can't provide Nationalised universal healthcare to Americans without there being some type of mandate or at a substantial amount of money to the taxpayers to subsidize healthcare.. He can't make the military "Great again" when he thinks he's smarter than Joint Chiefs already. Is it too hard to ask that his supporters use their brain, and do their research on Trump's so called policy proposals???

How come the rest of the developed world gets to have affordable healthcare and medicines, while we sit around scratching our nuts?
too many ambulance chasing lawyers here. Unless we have meaningful tort reform, we can never have 'affordable' health care without stealing from those that earn a living.

"Trump is a lot like Obamacare - super vague on specifics + you have to vote him in before you'll be allowed to see what's really inside." - Brad Thor

Obama did the exact same thing and got elected. twice. At least Trump has some intelligence as opposed to the socialist we now have. I am not necessarily a supporter either.

The option is a felon or a communist. I'll go with Trump if that is the choice.

I don't think that going to college was that rare in the 60's and 70's. I believe there were about 27,000 students at U.T. then. At least, I wasn't the only student.
