What a piece of low life scum if true and that stuff is easily proven given the ip addresses and other incriminating things.

Good grief. Of all the timing in the world, plus if it's true, get him.

For Mack. Has nothing to do with the university. Besides, I would imagine this behavior goes on quite often in the 3rd world Gump state you come from.

If you don't see the negative perception this casts on the school and program given the current state of affairs then you may qualify for Gump status. This has nothing to do with actual ramifications coming back on the university but it's just about as ****ty of a topping you can add to our mess.

Move to DEFCON 3.

Prepare for immediate launch of media missiles and elevated hostility in the twitterverse.

So a minor. When I hear "child" I think of little kids that don't know how to tie their shoes, not girls on Tinder.

It's complicated. If someone 18 or older has sex or tries to have sexual encounters with a girl under the age of 18, it's considered child rape even though technically she's still a teenager. That's how it is in my state of Kentucky. Not defending Crowder in any way but he probably didn't know that she was still a minor cause anyone can lie about their age on Tinder. I do believe he needs to be punished if somehow all of this is proven guilty.

Looks like 5 charges for Mack Crowder, based off jail records. 4X transmission of material harmful to minors. 1X prohibited use of computer.

Those are apparently 5 felony charges, btw.

Crowder has been charged with four counts of transmission of material harmful to minors and one count of violating Florida's Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act. He was free on bond

Actually, she could be a college student who is 17 years, 364 days old. Any headline with the words "child sex charge" creates maximum shock value-- exactly the intent, I'm sure. Adding "UT football player" makes it pure clickbait. Doesn't really matter what it is, though-- the timing is just terrible for UT.

Don't anyone take this the wrong way, because I know the subject of this thread is definitely not a laughing matter. But I think that as a Vol fan, this week has just about brought me to the point where I can identify with this reaction...

This is sickening, no question about that. But what does it have to do with the university? He's graduated. Former college students get arrested all the time.

Child sex charges are pretty bad to begin with.

Of course, but if she falsified her age and he was unaware, I'd be a little hesitant to skewer Mack.

These dating/hookup apps seem like trouble waiting to happen. Parents: educate your adolescents, instill good morals, and stay vigilant to their online activity.

University of Tennessee football player faces child sex charges in Pinellas County | WFLA.com

The Court of Public Opinion should love this one.

At least they could get it right and say former University of Tennessee football player. Still doesn't look good for us, but at least it creates a little distance. What's next? UT gonna catch the blame for his actions too? Maybe every time anyone commits a crime we should blow up where they went to school at. Such horse****, imo.

If he committed a crime, fine, blow his ass up and punish him. But the fact he went to UT has no bearing on the case. It's thrown in to capitalize on the sensationalism of the recent lawsuit. I thought journalists were supposed to be unbiased? Freakin' hack job.
