The most telling thing I have read was in ESPN article today.

"This suit comes two weeks after Florida State settled a Title IX lawsuit with former student Erica Kinsman, who said the school failed to adequately investigate allegations that she was raped by former Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston."

There will be many more lawsuits across America after Florida State paid up.

Pretty much. My apologies for the generalization but most trial lawyers tend to act like vultures and there's a fresh carcass out there.

This off season is sucking more than most so far. Let's hope for a turn around.

Things are about to get amazing when spring practice starts.

Let's not forget:

1. We closed exceptionally strong on signing day.
2. We got perhaps a top 5 DC
3. We are favorite to win SEC east
4. Sutton, JRM, AK
5. Manning won Super Bowl

We've received bad press with this lawsuit but tons of colleges will get the same attention.

You're right, and I know. I'm just tired of this particular cloud. Ready for some good news. Been pretty bad the last couple of weeks.

Well it looks like he has one hell of a scoop so we will see. I hope he's wrong because if he isn't UT will look like a disgusting, *****ed up institution that puts athletes above the law and morales.

It was 20 years ago and none of the principals are still in place. I don't see how that equates to a messed up institution in 2016.

I'm trying to reconcile the mooning/teabagging incident (which is disgusting and inappropriate, not saying it's acceptable) being called "sexual assault." That's quite a big leap from one to another. Being a stupid college kid and teabagging a female is crude and wrong, but let's not put it on the same level as sexual assault.

You're a genius. God, please enlighten me more. :good!:

I am not really sure what kind of response you were expecting when you sling crap like this against the wall? He may well commit to Clemson, but you seem to think it's a foregone conclusion because his buddy Amari did.

I'm not referring to just the Peyton stuff. This guy is alluding to a report that will reveal UT has been covering up sexual assault instances to protect a player from facing discipline. I don't know if it's true but if it is things could get bad

Doubt it. 20 year old mooning. Shaun King is a hack. So lame.

Let's call it what it is. To say mooning is a bit disingenuous, Ron. Manning teabagged the chick 20 years ago. It isn't relevant and it's a joke that it is being rehashed now as a part of this stupid lawsuit. I'm a Peyton fan through and through but you've got the extra orange shades on as usual.

Well, there hasn't been a cover up since Butch has taken over. If there has been, then it might be the best cover up ever seen, because no one has heard a thing about it. All incidents that have occurred under Butch from rape allegations to domestic violence to impermissible benefits to arrests to alcohol consumption under age to whatever else has happened has resulted in immediate suspension by the university. According to Butch, that is an university policy. If so, then how can the current administration and football staff be held accountable for anything. If things occurred and were covered up under prior regimes, then there is a case, but it shouldn't shine negatively on the current regime and university. This is all in relation to the Title IX lawsuit that was settled at FSU. All potential past victims are seeing an opportunity for a money grab. Peyton's victim has already done it twice.

Also, I'm not saying in the least bit that any true cases that were covered up shouldn't be dealt with...if any rapes or heinous crimes were committed and covered up, dig and bring them back up, and go to trial to prosecute the perpetrators! They deserve every single punishment that they have coming...no matter who it is.

An article on MSN.com stated that the former trainer is suing because of a book the Manning family participated in writing. In that book, the trainer was mentioned as a "female" only. The teabagging incident wasn't directed towards the female, but was simply towards a fellow athlete. She complained to her supervisor who told her it was just horseplay.
This incident was used to show a pattern by the school by the six plaintiffs, and has already been settled twice! It will probably get ugly, but will be so for both sides. Not trying to dilute this at all, but maybe 20 years or so ago, a mother of a 6 year old sued the school because a little boy kissed her daughter...............kid is still in jail!!! (JK)

In the Peyton Manning case, I believe this is payback because the article said it ruined her "promising career.

I understand the need to ensure schools deal seriously with sexual assaults. I have kids of my own so I definitely take it seriously. However, UT does a pretty good job from my outside perspective of dealing with these situations. The immediately suspend the players pending the outcome of the criminal investigation. I some cases that means the player never plays again. If AJ Johnson is found guilty then so be it. However, if he is found not guilty it doesn't matter because his possible NFL career is ruined. Maybe he should have done things differently and we all have to deal with the consequences of our actions. What more can the University of Tennessee do? They obviously educate against sexual assault. They suspend any player even associated with a sexual assault and that player doesn't play again until the university is satisfied. I want sexual assault to be taken seriously but the timing of this case just smells horribly of publicity and money grabbing. And that hurts the overall sexual assault culture. If people file these lawsuits simply for money then when someone is truly in need they are less likely to be taken seriously.

OT: Is that Greenwood, IN just south of Indianapolis? I work for Pilot in Logistics covering that area of the country. There is a PFJ store there, as well as a couple just south of there in Whiteland.

Yes. Greenwood, IN.

Mark Howard on 104.5, who has no affiliation with UT, and not someone I'd call a Vol fan, was absolutely RIPPING Sean King and called him a "scumbag with an agenda". Says that this is rehash of what's already been known, he's not defending Mannings actions, but does state that the details are from the plaintiffs side of the argument and should not be construed as pure fact. Howard called the whole thing a hack job.

Um... And to say tea bagging is COMPLETELY disingenuous.
