You all are giving 32k post catbone exactly what he craves............Attention.
His "look at me" approach is unique though. Rather cartoonesque.

I don't agree with the term cover up. She got paid, court documents were filed and plenty of people wrote about it. The term cover up would be to stifle the entire incident and the public NEVER finds out about it. His "guilt" has been well documented and he even acknowledged the incident. Just like any civil suit of this genre things are redacted and disclosure agreements are a part of it. I would venture that is more to avoid the plaintiff furthering the issue down the road every time he or she feels they didn't get enough compensation.

Cover up? Nah. It was never a secret.

I agree. Cover up is not the right term. I guess it would be to discredit her in the book. If it happened, I wish that they would have left well enough alone. Other posters have said that there was some foundation to what they claimed in the book, though, so who knows?

The eye opening part to me about this is after laughing that PM was named in the lawsuit I now see it as extremely relevant to how the university treats matters involving athletes

Can someone shed some light on this for me.

Is there any student, faculty, or campus worker that has by their actions forced the university to settle a 6figure payout and not been removed from campus for those actions?

In PMs case not only was he not removed from school but also wasn't suspended in any kind of public way. In terms of institutional indifference that sure seems relevant to me in this lawsuit

The fact that it was 20 years ago is relevant. Now, he was the standard bearer for our program. But, I think using an example from that long ago is more than a reach. Even if no action was taken, I would say the actions against current players is much more relevant and they were immediately suspended. Of course, we don't know the whole story on the "current player."

Agreed going that far back is a stretch for sure especially considering it's others in charge now

You're wrong and unlike earlier poster, I do know. Cat is rather (extremely) self deprecating, but that doesn't change the fact that he is a Vol fan through and through. Saying otherwise just makes one seem new, dumb, and/or touchy.

Also, that earlier post of Catbone's wasn't his but someone from reddit's. Now I don't know why he posted something from Reddit as that is a safe space stronghold-- definitely should always go to 4chan for Internet opinions-- but it's whatever.

I try to believe but then he posts stuff that always puts others in a great light and very rarely even puts UT in a good light. So, I may be wrong or I may be right. But, in the reality world of real people and not message boards, I have never met a true fan of a team who trashes his team as completely as what the cat does to UT. Meet him and take a pic and posts it then we can know that you really do know him and all about his fandom for UT which translates so very well to this forum.

That was 20 years ago. The coaches, administrators, presidents, and many other positions have all changed. It is actually pretty clear that they have taken action recently by suspending players while an investigation is ongoing, and in Paulk's case, he was dismissed without even being charged.

everyones personalities are unique. and, im sure he's developed said personality specific to the message boards, for attention. glad you added that caveat, as I agree. Think he's a good addition to the board. But im also a fan of wit and sarcasm.

The fact that Peyton Manning, Lil Jon and "Third Down for What" were mentioned tells you everything you need to know about this lawsuit. The plaintiffs' attorneys dug back 20 years and included anything they thought could grab headlines... and a bigger settlement.

The plaintiffs don't want to go to court. They're not looking for justice. They don't care about institutional change. They care about money. They're throwing everything they can find against the wall and hoping something will stick. If they can create negative publicity and make UT squirm over just one claim, they've opened the door to settlement. If you're a plaintiff's attorney trying to play the media to get a big settlement for your client(s), not really interested in the facts of the case and not too picky about ethics, it's a viable strategy.

Peyton mooned a female to counteract his Golden Boy image to fit in period. He has no history of similar behavior before or after this incident. We understand that our current social media culture mandates that all rivals attempt to knock him off his rightful place at the top. However, these allegations have only resurfaced based on unproven allegations against recent and current players, and the fact that the greatest QB in the history of the sport just rode off into the sunset as the champion he is! UNIVERSITY of Tennessee+ NOT GUILTY= B.S. LAWSUIT. TIME FOR IMAGE OF PEYTON LEADING THE BAND!!:rock::rock::rock::rock::rock::rock::rock::rock:

I need some help from my fellow Vols. I am currently stationed in Florida, but I grew up in Tennessee and am a land owner next to the Cumberland Trail near Soddy-Daisy, TN. We were recently informed that a proposed shooting range is in the works near the State Park and our land. If this gets approved, the noise from the range will drive away the badly needed ecotourists from the area. Since most homeowners in the area use well water, the lead from spent rounds pose a threat to the ground water as well.

Here is the article from the Times Free Press:
Outdoor advocates say proposed shooting range will be too close to Cumberland Trail | Times Free Press

Although Mr. Whaley stated the range is .68 miles away from the Cumberland Trail, we have actually mapped it out to be approximately .37 miles. Either way, that is well within the audible range of gunfire.

I am a gun owner and frequent user of shooting ranges, but I would never want to jeopardize a State Park or safety of residents in doing so. There is also an existing gun range about 20 minutes away (Montlake Classic Clays). Do we really need another range that close?

If you would please sign our petition so that the range can be moved to a more suitable area and share this information with your friends, it would be greatly appreciated.

Meant more about the feelings here not the complete obvious. Whatever

Then my answer stays the same. What more are you looking for? Other than the "The Sky is Falling" crowd, most in here know how it plays out. We keep recruiting and we either end up with them or we don't. It is recruiting. You win some, you lose some. Some try to make it out to be more, because of legacies, but it is not. We've taken several legacies from other schools the last couple of years....sooner or later it's bound to happen to us too. We have a year to fight it and try to get him back.

Omg Peyton mooned and tea bagged someone! How dare he not murder dogs or people like Ray Lewis and Vick and be of another race. Then it would be OK to these activists. Hell go after Ben Rapestburger. So stupid

Comparisons to rationalize immoral behavior only lead to justifications for more immoral behavior.
