I don't agree with the term cover up. She got paid, court documents were filed and plenty of people wrote about it. The term cover up would be to stifle the entire incident and the public NEVER finds out about it. His "guilt" has been well documented and he even acknowledged the incident. Just like any civil suit of this genre things are redacted and disclosure agreements are a part of it. I would venture that is more to avoid the plaintiff furthering the issue down the road every time he or she feels they didn't get enough compensation.
Cover up? Nah. It was never a secret.
The eye opening part to me about this is after laughing that PM was named in the lawsuit I now see it as extremely relevant to how the university treats matters involving athletes
Can someone shed some light on this for me.
Is there any student, faculty, or campus worker that has by their actions forced the university to settle a 6figure payout and not been removed from campus for those actions?
In PMs case not only was he not removed from school but also wasn't suspended in any kind of public way. In terms of institutional indifference that sure seems relevant to me in this lawsuit
The fact that it was 20 years ago is relevant. Now, he was the standard bearer for our program. But, I think using an example from that long ago is more than a reach. Even if no action was taken, I would say the actions against current players is much more relevant and they were immediately suspended. Of course, we don't know the whole story on the "current player."
You're wrong and unlike earlier poster, I do know. Cat is rather (extremely) self deprecating, but that doesn't change the fact that he is a Vol fan through and through. Saying otherwise just makes one seem new, dumb, and/or touchy.
Also, that earlier post of Catbone's wasn't his but someone from reddit's. Now I don't know why he posted something from Reddit as that is a safe space stronghold-- definitely should always go to 4chan for Internet opinions-- but it's whatever.

You all are giving 32k post catbone exactly what he craves............Attention.
His "look at me" approach is unique though. Rather cartoonesque.

Meant more about the feelings here not the complete obvious. Whatever
Omg Peyton mooned and tea bagged someone! How dare he not murder dogs or people like Ray Lewis and Vick and be of another race. Then it would be OK to these activists. Hell go after Ben Rapestburger. So stupid
