Not sure if it's been mentioned but I would assume the marlin lane stuff is probably part of this. That one did sound fishy IMO

Somehow slipped by without the media picking up on it, right? Wasn't it similar to Von's case in that he was accused but ultimately never charged?

I thought the rule was changed so you could only sign papers with 1 team.

One thing I think is being missed with this is signing a financial agreement only changes the contact rules for the school the kid signs with

The other schools can still contact the kid within the rules in the NCAA recruiting calendar

I don't recall the specifics but do recall thinking something "fishy" might have been done to keep that info from the press with marlin lane

"... claiming the university allowed an out-of-control party culture among student-athletes."

College kids party. Not a UT thing. Not an athlete thing. A student thing at 99% of colleges across America. Just another big money grab by opportunists with a lawyer who has a track record of milking a cash cow.

Rumors are true. Loud music, Natty Light, and occasional marijuana use have been reported on campus. Better shut the university down ASAP.

Better shut down all universities (especially Berkeley, UCLA, USC and don't let the Ivy Leaguer's fool you either), college's, CC's ASAP

When you realize you don't have anything on your older brother anymore & have to go back to sitting at the kid's table.

Inebriated students wearing orange UT apparel have been spotted walking unsteadily to their dorm rooms. A few had the audacity to carry orange plastic cups filled with beverages suspected to be of alcoholic origin. Offkey singing of Rocky Top-- with wooing!-- has been heard, and the occasional dabbing was seen. Their parents undoubtedly would be shocked at their behavior. Shocked!

The RB from Memphis Trezvant is a natural, he absolutely was the difference in the SCG game. For got his name, hope CBJ knows it. :jpshakehead:

He said he was thinking ahead about going for 2 and how much time is on the clock.

He's a Manning

I read an article about this. They said that the fact that the Giants lost 6 games in the last few minutes just might have had an effect on his reaction. Look at Archie's reaction as well.

I agree, if this was a huge cover up then something absolutely needs to happen. The only issue is, it is incredibly hard to prove one way or the other.

Obviously, we don't know everything. But I am not sure how there is a coverup when players are suspended, and in the case of Von Pearson, the KPD investigation (presumably with the school following it) lasts for months. These folks saw that FSU wrote a million dollar check to settle the Jameis case. They are following that and hoping to cash in. I don't remember the timeline, but I am guessing AJ graduated before being officially charged. The accused still have due process rights.

I can tell you this. As an attorney, I can say that the administrative process for the hearings is very similar to the administrative process among the state agencies. The administrative law judges are appointed by Haslam (like Cheek) and follow the Administrative Procedures Act.

I agree VolGee, I said that earlier how is there some cover up when you immediately suspend players until the investigation is complete- then depending in the outcome either allow the player back on the team or dismiss the player. Other than one current unnamed player which many of us assumes is VP, the other players are no longer on the team. Good grief, AJ was our star defensive player and never played a down again after he was suspended!! I caught off guard by this lawsuit because I always thought Butch handled these things the correct way. Hopefully it will be found that Tennessee did everything they should have and the lawsuit will be unfounded. But the PR in the meantime can't be spun in a good way and now it is getting national coverage.

The thing I hate the most about lawsuits like this is how they get all this media attention when they're first filed, but then never mentioned again if they're found base less.

Like that rolling stone article last year about the fraternity at UVA that got all that attention, only to be found out that is was completely fabricated.

We didn't have a Gherig Dieter problem. We had a Matt Johnson problem on our hands. Guy was throwing dimes over errrrrybody. Best QB we faced all year.

Also had a let things come to you problem in secondary vs an attack the ball and WR. Shoop don't play that game. If you ain't challenging the route your on the bench
