Cam apologists galore in here, Peyton called Brees immediately after the Super Bowl and congratulated him. He's never done any punk ass shat ya'll have condoned. If cam was a real man he'd have took the loss like a man but he didnt. It's a damn game. Russel Wilson was responsible for a loss at the end of a Super Bowl but he didn't act like a punk ass b!### last year. He took it like a man therefore I have respect for him. Respect is earned not given. The way Peyton has lived his life, he's definitely earned it. Cam's evasion of the fumble recovery is the unpardonable sin in all this. Anybody can showboat when things are clicking, but can you LEAD when the shat hits the fan? You certainly cant condoning less than 100% effort, or a modicum show of class for the GAME.
Git sum

So are you going to pick and choose what you want to hold people accountable for? Just making it up as you go along to justify what you want and convict what you want?

Peyton sulked and left the field in 2010.

Cam went and shook Peyton's hand and congratulated him last night.

Personally, I don't really give a crap what anyone says to the media or if they shake hands after the super bowl. Who gives a crap? Yeah, Cam should not have left that presser just like Peyton shouldn't have left the field in 2010. But it's not the end of the world in either case.

It was widely written about that Peyton called Brees that night, apologized for not shaking his hand, and congratulated him on the win.

So what? Go shake that man's hand face to face like a man. I'm a Manning fan to the fullest but that's BS sportsmanship. What moment are you stealing by shaking his hand and going to your locker room? He was just mad and decided to call him after thinking about the poor sport he was. Peyton locked a dude out of the film room as a freshman come on now. He has that mean competitive streak in him.

That's the word but he can't leave the press conference. It is what it is though. Posters calling him a bum are hilarious. Dude is an outstanding football player. Reserve the bum title for real bums not the elite.

I agree. He can't leave the presser.

Yeah, bum, scum, scam, loser are the words of choice in here. He's the NFL MVP and has won a national title and a heisman. People talking about him like he's Manziel.

Still waiting on Cam's apology like Peyton gave Brees immediately after it happened. Things happen in the heat of the moment after a game. Some people are man enough to own up to them once they cool down.

Cam manned up, shook Peyton's hand and congratulated him with a smile on his face. He doesn't owe anyone an apology.

Man wouldn't even shake his peer's hand. What the hell dude? You call me but won't walk up to me face to face? I'm sorry I'd lose respect for a dude that did that. Apology and all, I'd look at him sideways. Did you hear the media continue to ask the same questions over and over again that the man had already answered? I said personally he can't get up and leave like that but that's the media too. I have no sympathy for any player treating some of these dumb reporters wrong. They are antagonists and want to stir up BS at every turn. He should apologize just to save face but I don't care if he does or doesn't. He walked up to the captain of the other team face to face like a man not over the phone and congratulated him right after losing. Phone calls are what women do, men walk up face to face and handle business. IMO

I don't like Cam Newton because I didn't like him at Auburn. I hated that team. His personality really has nothing to do with it for me, but obviously doesn't help. Yes, he's an amazing football player worthy of credit for being so, but all this crazy hype about being the can't miss future GOAT and changing the game forever stuff is over the top. It's almost like Michael Vick hype 10 years ago.

If Cam had stayed and said something stupid while he was emotional after the biggest loss of his career then you all would be dogging him even worse. Smart move by him. Walking off is much better than saying something stupid. Yeah you can say he should sit there and take it but when the media is asking the same questions over and over that you just answered what would you do? It's his job but oh well things happen at your job. Some days you need to go home early from work. It is what it is. He'll be back and better from this experience. I've never seen so much hate for a good player in the NFL. Tom Brady is the biggest crybaby you'll see but they let him go with a slap on the wrist media wise.

Or, you know, just ****ing control yourself and answer the questions even though it sucks. Is the interview stupid? Yes. Do you have to do it? Yes. Better QBs than Cam have lost and pushed through that interview without acting like a brat. As I said, he needed to be humbled and he was.

He has improved and grown so much in this league...the next thing he needs to learn is how to lose with class.

He's much better than Vick hater. Look at his WRs and look at those numbers. He's producing with garbage at WR. He's the hype and will continue to be good.

No because he's a former Vol that's why. What else has Cam do besides dance? Hilarious to say the least. Man is a great teammate and role model but he's called a thug and all kinds of stupidity.

He's not a thug, he's just a petulant, whiny little brat that wants everything to go his way and get ALL the attention, but when adversity hits, he turns into a reclusive, sulking child.

The only difference is their behavior leading up to the incidents. They both acted poorly after losses, but people have viewed Cam's antics during games and after wins in a negative light. Whether you agree with that or not(I do not), that seems to be what is causing most of the backlash.
