Tim Tebow
Cam Newton
Johnny Manziel
Marcus Mariota

Assuming they're all their college selves, which one would you pick to lead the Vols from 2017-2020, and how many championships would Tennessee win?

Manziel then Mariota

Also, wouldn't put Tebow on that list. Not on their level imo.

Cam 100%. Best college player of all time. And probably a natty every year.

No way. Mariota and Manziel both put up similar rushing numbers and dwarfed Newton's passing game. Both preformed better in big games than Newton. But most important was Newton only played one season.

So I'd rank two players on that short list alone higher. Would not hesitate to take him over Tebow, though.

I'd take Manziel for our offense. His best year he put up almost 1,000 more yards total offense than Newton's one year at auburn.

Mariota's team choked in the natty. Cam's team didn't. I rank Tebow as the best "college" player of the modern era. But I would still pick Cam ahead of them all.

Cam newtons Auburn team literally went from best to worst after he left and they only lost like 4 starters. Also, Cam did it at a time when the SEC was at its ultimate peak. Stats are inflated lies sometime, cams impact on the game and on 3rd down/red zone is way more than manziel or mariotta.

Denver's O is good at what Carolina is weaker at stopping - running the ball. Thomas Davis has a broken arm. He will be limited even if he can somehow play. Denver will play the same way - ball control O.

Carolina's O is dependent on the big play, many times with a secondary breakdown with Cam scrambling or the O-line providing great protection. I agree on Oher, not enough quickness for Denver's DE's without help. That frees up the others. But their LB's are going to have to spy Cam or he will kill them. The key for Denver is the secondary and using coverages like what drove Brady crazy. If their two safeties that were injured are available, then they have a good shot at this. Olsen is good, but he is no Gronk that can single handedly destroy a secondary.

Too close to call IMO. Which makes this one really interesting. Obviously, my heart wants PM and the Broncos to get it done big time.

I really don't see Denver beating Carolina. The read option/play action will slow down Denvers pass rusher a little and the Panthers secondary will be much better than patriots played. Side note: Malik Jackson was a monster yesterday.

Denver was able to get pressure with only 3 and 4 rushers against New England. It's not like they were bringing 6 and 7 guys every play. Carolina doesn't have a dominant o-line, so Denver should be able to replicate that pass rush with only 3 and 4 guys again.

Carolina has opened as a 5.5 point favorite. I think that's about right. If Denver can keep it that close, then they have an excellent chance. I agree that defensive pressure and Denver's running game are very important to their chances. I desperately want the Broncos to win, but agree, it will be a tough row to hoe.

Why is it everytime something good happens for Peyton, people from FF come over here and inform us how he's going to get destroyed?

Anyway, I'm thrilled he won. He may lose in the Superbowl, but I think beating Brady in playoff is still impressive and indicates that they can play on same field with Cam Newton.

NE played with 11 different olines this year. It was widely known that their oline was at the bottom of the league. They also had their 1 and 2 RB out. It's not rocket science to think hey they probably can't run it, Brady can't scramble so we can just pin our ears back all game. You can't do that against cam because he will playfake, read option, take off etc... Also Denver plays man about 75% of the time which is gonna be a tough task against the counter/PA game that Carolina brings.

No one around here can enjoy a win for a day. VN wouldn't exist without some sort of doom and gloom.

Think Denver's D line gets gassed by the 4th quarter trying to chase Newton down. Carolina pulls ahead for good in the 4th Q. :{

The only real advantage I see for Denver is Harris and Talib are far better than whoever they will be covering. (I do realize Denvers Dline is great and better than Carolinas Oline, but playing against cams running and passing idk how they adjust since they can't just rush to a spot like vs Brady, so I'm leaving that out)

Everything else favors Panthers IMO.

They HAVE to play contain instead of just rushing the QB like they did Brady. I don't think Brady left the pocket more than a few times, just stood in and took it. Newton will run for 150 if they're not careful.

Denver can definitely win though. If they can turn Brady over three times, they can beat Cam too, but it's not going to be easy. Should be a good super bowl.

I'm thrilled Peyton made it to another Super Bowl. Especially having beaten NE to get there. Again. But it's going to be really tough to beat that Carolina team. They've been head and shoulders above everyone else all season. Just a nasty, nasty defense and an offense that methodically goes down the field and moves the chains. Really hard to stop them.

That Denver D will eat.

Defense trumps offense and Newton will turn it over.

With the way Cam treated the Seahawks defense twice this year and the AZ defense last night, I don't think anyone can stop him at this point. He made those defenses look like the Saints. Broncos D is best in league but Newton will get his. I got to roll with Newton and Panthers D in this one. panthers D is very aggressive and will get after Peyton causing turnovers of their own.
