I am starting to get on the Trump train. All I want is a reformed/simplified tax code and I think he is the best man for the job.

Agreed! Who cares if he is an authoritarian and names himself dictator? As long as I personally save a dollar!

He's a billionaire who's company just filed for bankruptcy in 2014.

Not exactly stating all the facts now are we?

A portion of the business filed for Chapter 11 in 2014, not the entire Trump Enterprises.

You're worse than the left about stretching facts.

I am not talking about appointments to office (nepotism), I am talking about croneyism. Picking winners and losers in the market.

He seems to pick winners in his real estate deals.

Here's a question for you. Would you rather he manage your money (if he wasn't running for President) or any of the current clowns in Washington?

It's a mix of budget cuts and lowering taxes. Eliminating fraud, waste and abuse within the government while eliminating loopholes in the tax plan.

Opponents of Trump will say it won't work. Neutral parties say they aren't sure. And of course pro-Trump parties will say it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I'd love to see some real vetted numbers.

I find it hard to believe that Trump would eliminate loopholes for the ultra wealthy - he's been unapologetic and flaunted his abuse of them. Of course, he'd have excellent insight into what they are.

Trump Entertainment Resorts. Filed bankruptcy for the 2nd time in 10 years in September of 2014. 8,000 people lost their jobs and Trump owes creditors $280 million.

Is there a Casino in Atlantic City that hasn't filed or on the verge of filing?

You do realize this is only his two Casinos/Resorts in Atlantic City don't you?

So explain why we should elect someone who can't even run his own company effectively. If I wanted to elect a CEO it would be Fred Smith not Trump. Trump was so bad at balancing his own budget that Citi Bank had to put him on an allowance .

Fred Smith came from a wealthy background. Pretty sure his family founded greyhound. Also Fred couldn't pay his payroll one week so he flew to Vegas and gambled the remaining money and won.

Clearly, accepting a modicum of responsibility are foreign concepts to people like you, just blame Obama for everything. Like I said, history and facts show your argument to be as shallow as they usually are.

Your facts? Are you denying that Harry Reid never took a balanced budget bill to Obama for approval? Now who's rewriting history?

Neutral parties also say it won't work. The neutral parties say it would add 10 trillion in debt. The liberal parties say 12 trillion.

No one running today is going to even attempt stopping that.

Rand would attempt it and would in some cases probably sign off on some legislation with croneyism in it.

Nobody else would really take a stand, but that's still a lot better than being a perpetrator.

Trump seems like he'd be a big perpetrator.

IDK for sure. Part of me is hoping Trump would just get in the Oval office and have a party for 4 years, which would be a good outcome. A bigger part of me thinks he really is ambitious about using the government to solve our problems. I'm very scared of that.

I think you're in for a disappointment if you think that has a snowballs chance in hell.

Admittedly I'm a pessimist but I can't image a world in which the US Government succeeds in revising the tax code, implementing it and reducing taxes.

If you are choosing your candidate based on a promise of Fridays off, a Coke machine in the cafeteria, no more exams and new football uniforms - you're going to be sad.

I've come to the conclusion no POTUS will simplify the tax code. Congress wouldn't allow it.

If we retain both houses of congress it's highly plausible mr doom and gloom. Geez

I could be wrong, but eliminating the loopholes while lowering the higher tax brackets might actually increase revenue in the long run. For example Obama paid roughly 19% in taxes last year on a little over $400K in income.

The Obamas paid $93,362 in federal income taxes - Apr. 10, 2015

Romney paid around 14% in 2011 according to most figures:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...2e5096-0417-11e2-91e7-2962c74e7738_story.html

And if the system worked the way it was supposed to, both men should have been paying the 39%. But neither one even came close.

So eliminating the tax loopholes and capping it at his proposed 25% should actually increase revenue from the top brackets in the long run. Or so the theory would go.

All of you? Please back up this statement.

I've seen very few openly support trump on here (Franklin Pierce, maybe?). Yet everytime he is mentioned, yourself and many others immediately come to his defense. It's interesting.

You are an economic idiot and I don't know why I bother but...He is the best person to decrease corporate taxes, bring foreign money back to the states, encourage US companies to keep their businesses in the US, and decrease freeloaders. All good for the economy in general and not me personally. Do these things and I would be ok with an increase in my personal taxes.
